Dawson's Creek, Sex and the City and Everwood come to mind. Apparently, I like my finales on the happy, sappy side. Damn it.

Dead Like Me
has a pretty good finale to the series as well, especially considering it wasn't supposed to be the finale.

Newhart will always be the best finale, and it set the standard for something that is shocking at the end of the show, but is not too over the top. This was an underrated show in the 80's, and never truly got the respect it deserved.

I agree w/ Newhart and MASH on the original list. I was surprised to see Seinfeld wasn't on there though. Personally I thought it was a very appropriate ending, but then again I didn't care for the show

I also agree w/ those who have mentioned STS9 and I have mixed feelings about B5 since there were a couple of "final" eps due to the problems w/ whether or not there was going to be a 5th season.

While technically not the end of the series the final eps of Stargate-SG1 season 8 was essentially the end of the original series and was very well done IMHO.
