question about donald trump on apprentice

i watch this show pretty much religiously because i find it very amusing that grown people lack lots of common sense. but what really blows my mind is trump. does anyone really have any respect for this man? why? im sure people can rant off on how successful he is a businessman but he acts like a complete inconsiderate and sleezy fuck. he has gold plated sinks in his house (yeah thats really necessary), he incorporates wal-mart in his shows, he doesn't even have the common sense and deceny to thanks the damn bell man when he opens his limosine door!!!!! yet, all the contestants admire him (or so they say). oh yeah, i forgot to add, he donates a ton of money to charity so i guess that qualifys him as a good down to earth man. haha. gotta love the abuse of capitalism, values one damn thing in this country $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ but of course give some money to charity and your a good man i guess.

He seems to have gotten where he is by taking large risks. While I don't like Trump, he's got big balls and certainly seems to be the master of his own destiny. I give him grudging respect for his accomplishments, but I don't see him as a role model outside of his success in business.

You do realize that he got his early money from his uber rich father, don't you. He is not a self made millionaire. His DAD was a multi-hundred millionaire.

I didn't realize how wealthy his father was until I just did some quick research after your post. I loathe Donald Trump as I see him in the media and on The Apprentice. My initial post was based on (my apparently doubtful) impression that he had bounced back strong from the bankruptcy and failure of his business and real estate holdings in the 1990's, although the quick research I did also brings that impression into question. I guess I was just trying to differentiate him from someone with no substance, like Paris Hilton. I am now wondering if there is any difference at all. A talent at self-promotion seems the most glaring commonality.

If Trump were on his own show, he'd be fired in the first week.

probably more of a question for otter than tv... your real question is why does america place such high value and regard to people who are just rich or snobbish?
