Sydney: "But I can't be the chosen one. I saw Mt. Subasio."
Jack: "No. You only think you saw it. What you actually saw was me disguised as Mt. Subasio. Vaughn came up with the idea, and Marshall did the op tech."

My guess for the final ep: The Rambaldi endgame is actually a time machine that throws Slone back in time. Back there, he adopts the name Rambaldi and then goes on to put all the Rambaldi artifacts in place. It would answer all the questions how Rambaldi knew all the future info.

The Thomas Grace sub-plot seemed like a bit of a cop-out. I hope there is more to it and it better not be as lame as that was.
The best part of the ep, besides Jack, was having Sark back working w/ Sydney. And Marshall admitting that he needs a good cry every now and then.
I don't want Syd to kill Sloane. I want Jack to take his time doing it. Syd, SpyMommy and Sark watching, while eating some cheese and summer-sausage.

Maybe Jack could make Sloane die in a car crash.
And then later, everyone could sit around and watch the episode of "One Day At A Time" where Nick died in a car crash.
(Ron Rifkin, the actor who plays Sloane, also played Nick on "One Day At A Time," and his character died in a car crash.)

I'm also not feeling Tom's subplot. If this wasn't the last season, I'm sure I would feel a little differently. But knowing that this is the final run and I'm never going to be watching Tom's character again, I really don't much care what happens. He's too new; I have absolutely nothing invested in his storyline. But maybe the writers will surprise me and find a way to link Tom's story to the bigger picture.
And as far as Abrams' involvement. I remember reading, like someone else said, that he really wanted to direct the finale but had to do stuff for MI:3. But he has said that he gave the thumb's up to the finale and that it is a fitting end to the show.

*Spoilers*
I have a theory for why the writers felt the need to include the Tom storyline.....they wanted us to believe that Tom was a mole for Prophet 5, so this kept things interesting for a few weeks. Once Racehl helped him and we heard "the bald guy" tell him that he killed Tom's wife, we then knew that Tom was not lying to Rachel, and he only wanted to understand why his wife died.
But who knows with this show.....
