Spoiler:
In the season finale, Michael and the Dunder Mifflin crew hold a Casino Night for charity in their warehouse and take some big gambles.

Doughboy 05-11-06 07:24 AM

No more new Office episodes until the fall.:(

Why do I get the feeling we're gonna be left with some major cliffhangers involving Jim/Pam and Michael's sudden love triangle?

Nesbit 05-11-06 09:12 AM

Well here it is. The final episode of the greatest season of comedy I've ever seen.

Well said. This season was one for the ages.

Can't wait for the DVD with the mini-episodes and all of the promos, more you know ads, Michael's Scranton video, etc.

If we limit it to shows with 20+ episodes in a season, it's right up there with Seinfeld Season 4 and Arrested Development Season 1 as the best I've ever seen.

There were maybe 2 or 3 episodes out of the first 21 that I'd consider mediocre, and even one of those(the "Halloween" one) had that classic scene with Dwight in his Sith robes trying to convince Michael and his dummy not to fire him.

If this show doesn't get the Emmy this fall, there is no justice.

maingon 05-11-06 11:07 AM

it better get an emmy, this season was fantastic, i could watch any given episode over and over and still find it funny

DGibFen 05-11-06 08:58 PM

Well that was an interesting - if somewhat predictable - ending to this season!

Achtung 05-11-06 08:59 PM

Yeah, I'd heard the ending would be unpredictable, and that certainly wasn't... but damned if they didn't both pull it off perfectly.

Creed: I've never owned a fridge before.

MrX 05-11-06 09:01 PM

"I steal things"

Creed was great and the Michael/Toby confrontation was hilarious.

Creed was the man tonight. Between the soup kitchen comment and the stealing confession, he got some of the best laughs in the show.

"So, that's still going on?" rotfl The look on his face when Michael said "new lovers" was great.

Patman 05-11-06 09:04 PM

All the love pangs and angst I got from the British version, I also got from Jim's declaration of his love for Pam. That was played out very well.

Creed was killing me. The way he shook out the chips after being announced the winner of the fridge was great.

Jim's "tale" that made Dwigt fold on command was hilarious.

Angela's slap of Dwigt after he rolls an 8 and kisses her was funny as hell.

Tobie taking Michael's money on the first hand...classic!

Michael's love triangle was so clumsy in execution, but still delivered the pathos and laughs.

Kevin's an idiot. Haha.

HE Pennypacker 05-11-06 09:05 PM

This was a perfect season finale. It had everything.

I think it would have been better to do what they did at the end of season 2 of the British version -
Spoiler:
he goes and tells her his feelings, and she turns him down, all while the cameras watch because there's no microphone on during the conversation.

Well played also that (spoiler for the British version in case people haven't seen it):
Spoiler:
the second season of this show ends like the Christmas special (and final episode) of the BBC one, with the two of them finally together and no one knows how it'll go. Of course I guess we'll get to find out next season. :)

It was predictable, but still a great episode. Every character got at least one moment in the spotlight. I liked Oscar hating on the Boy Scouts(can't imagine why he would dislike that organization). Dwight kissing Michael hello everytime he delivered an update on "Lan Jevinson" was classic.

And speaking of which, those were some pretty heartbreaking moments at the end, especially Jim professing his love to Pam. I had a hard time watching that one since I've been in that situation before.

I don't know how sorry I feel for "Lan" though. She did treat Michael like crap(including right before the Casino Night), so part of me thinks she got what she deserved.

DGibFen 05-11-06 09:16 PM

The only thing that worries me about Jim and Pam is that it will turn into a "Ross and Rachel" type situation. Personally, I like to see how the show would handle the two of them getting together and staying together, since the British version
Spoiler:
only allowed it to happen at the end of the series.
No break-ups or ugly situations, I hope.

Big Dave 05-11-06 09:17 PM

Excellent episode, kind of wish they would not have kissed, maybe show Jim entering the room, then fade to black.

greg9x 05-11-06 09:17 PM

I thought Jim and Jan were gonna hook up...
Angela's giddyness after Dwight kissed her while trying to act pissed was cute.

Great episode !!!

Trelach24 05-11-06 09:18 PM

Wow, that was pretty hard to watch.

Totally what I thought too. Would have set up Jim and Michael to be enemies, and Jan and Pam... that's what happens when you think too much I guess.

henryfish 05-11-06 09:25 PM

I hope that next season can focus more on the downsizing/Michael getting fired arc. Or maybe they'll hold that for their last season. Or maybe they won't do it at all! Point is, I want next season.
