There is a rumor that CBS will can "Close to Home" at the end of the season because it's not getting bigger 18-49 numbers despite it getting over 10M viewers every week.
|
Not that I watch CTH but that would be a mistake. CBS rarely gets great 18-49 numbers so cancelling it for that reason would be dumb. Honestly, what are they going to replace it with that will get better numbers? Seems to me they should move it to another night than to cancel it all together... But whatever. Would be just another show I don't watch gone.
|
Christ, 27 million people watched "Are you smarter then a 5th grader"??????
Well veronica mars ratings went up slightly this week (it had 2.34 mil last week compared to 2.74 this week) |
I think that stat is misleading for it, though. This was the 1st week American Idol went from 2 hours to 1 1/2 hours. It probably took people a few minutes to figure that out, and turn off their sets.

There is a rumor that CBS will can "Close to Home" at the end of the season because it's not getting bigger 18-49 numbers despite it getting over 10M viewers every week. Tuesday - 02/27 8-9pm (7-8pm): Good ratings for NCIS this week. NCIS hasn't been as good as the last 3 seasons, actually alot of the shows this year haven't been as good as last year but im confident as the season comes closer to an end it will pick up. im not even going to count american idol cause it always beats everything else, which is really sad because NCIS is 30 billion times a better show and at least 16 million other people think so. Dateline: to catch a predator got low ratings again this week but still & glad to see it beat AFHV & Gilmore Girls. 9-10pm (8-9pm): good god people actually watched 'are you smarter than a 5th grader?' wow! CBS lost alot of its NCIS viewers when the Unit came on. The Unit is another on of those shows that hasn't been as good as last season, its still better than AYST5thG & American Idol. Law & Order: CI has been getting low ratings as of late, and its actually really good this year, maybe the best year for the show in along time. nice to see low ratings for primetime: the outsiders and veronica mars. 10-11pm (9-10pm): Good to see Law & Order: SVU in the #1 spot again but with 11 million people being the highest of this timeslot, everyone must have gone to bed or something. the repeat of criminal minds did really well. Shows by 18-49 Demo: american idol & are you smarter than a 5th grader? are in the top 2, come on! nice to see L&O: SVU & NCIS in the 3rd & 4th spot through. Overall: i continue to lose faith that american idol will go away. nice to see NCIS, The Unit & L&O: SVU do good. I wish more people would watch L&O: CI because it is a very good season this year , but only when chris noth and his partner are on. the original det. arn't that entertaining anymore. |

8-9pm (7-8pm): well american idol crushed everything like always, sadly. there is not one show in this timeslot that i like, wow people watch americas next top model? i can't stand Tyra Banks. I hope Jericho picks up more viewers as weeks go on for fans of the show. 9-10pm (8-9pm): always nice to see criminal minds with good ratings, i can't beleive people are actually watching 'are you smarter than a 5th grader?' how many piece of reality garbage do we have to see ruin primetime tv. good to see that not everyone is watching DOND, theres another flippin reality/game show. good to see low ratings for that poor excuse for comedy 'in case of emergency'. 10-11pm (9-10pm): Another week were CSI: NY beats Lost by 2 million viewers again. I like both shows so it doesn't really matter which is #1 & 2 as long as neither program is in the #3 spot. Medium loses more viewers this week and with good reason, i watched that show twice this year and god was it bad. Shows by 18-49 Demo: wow CSI: NY isn't even in this demo? lost taking the #3 spot so overall Lost is the higher rated show. nice to see criminal minds up there. Overall: Good to see my shows this Wed-Criminal minds, Lost & CSI:NY do good this week, through i don't understand why CSI:NY isn't even on the 18-49 demo? |

Woohoo! 30 Rock was up a million viewers (from 4.5m last week). But that's what happens when there's no Grey's Anatomy or CSI.

^ That and it still lost 1m viewers from lead-in Scrubs...

Just commenting, and was hoping it was gaining traction... then realized it was Repeat Thurdays.

8-9pm (7-8pm): again stupid american idol is in the #1 spot as usual. survivor: Figi still got pretty good ratings thankfully. good to see that not as many people are watch repeats of Ugly Betty, nice to see that repeats of Earl & The Office did well but it would have been nice if they beat Ugly Betty, cause Ugly Betty is indeed a pretty ugly show. 9-10pm (8-9pm): for the love of god, people would watch repeats of greys & CSI over new episodes of scrubs & 30 rock? why won't more people give these 2 great comedies a try? & i can't believe 23 million people watched 'are you smarter than a 5th grader?. 10-11pm (9-10pm): well its nice to see a repeat of men in trees beat an encore of the black donnellys, it is a bad show. more people still watched shark through, i like james wood but that show is so formulaic. Shows by 18-49 Demo: nice to see scrubs at #6 in the most important demo. 30 rock could have done a little better but its nice to see it beat ugly betty & the black donnelly's, can't wait till NBC cancels the donnelly's. Overall: Alot of repeats last night, it would have been nice if more people gave Scrubs & 30 Rock a chance. overall a pretty low key night. My shows (On thursday): My name is Earl, Scrubs, 30 Rock, Men In Trees, Survivor: Figi. |
Nateman:
Do you complain this much about Canadian Idol as well? I'm sure that probably destroys alot of the competition up there. |
Nateman: Do you complain this much about Canadian Idol as well? I'm sure that probably destroys alot of the competition up there. about the only canadian shows i watch are Corner Gas & Robson Arms and there on the same channel (CTV) as Canadian Idol. I don't like Canadian Idol but i find that i can deal with it more than American Idol because it has nothing to do with the ratings of american shows and there isn't as much Canadian programming as american. They had auditions in my city and yea its important to alot of people but not nearly as many people show up, of course american cities have about 5 times as many people as winnipeg so.....? |

Friday - 03/02
8-9pm (7-8pm): well more people watched 1 vs 100 this week but not that many more than ghost whisperer and thats pretty sad that they only got .92 more that a repeat of whisperer, its nice to see but not good for NBC in my opinion. Nice to see that people still arn't watching these repeat episodes of Grey's ABC seems to like putting on as of late. 9-10pm (8-9pm): I don't understand why people would watch a repeat of close to home, i don't understand why people watch that borefest in the first place over Las Vegas. Las Vega's season 4 finale is next week and i hope it can beat close to home for once. Not that many people watched the repeat of wife swap but more people what that repeat than the grey's repeat before it which was a pleasant surprise. 10-11pm (9-10pm): The original L&0 was a repeat last night and this season sucks anyway so i don't care about any of the shows in this timeslot. Shows by 18-49 Demo: Las Vegas did alright in this demo getting 4th spot, i wish it had done better through. Overall: well pretty bad night for TV, good episode of vegas last night but i wish more people would watch this show because it is 10 times better than close to home. |

 wow 7.32million was the highest! Nice to see Law & Order: CI do well, #1 show on saturday, to bad it isn't doing as good on its new episodes on tuesdays. COP's doesn't seem to have done well these days or has the ratings for it always been low? Anyway Saturday still remains 'death night in primetime'. |
Seems like that's about what COPS gets each week. Plus, it's probably cheap to produce (and then there's the syndication dollars they might get) so even though those are low numbers, it's still profitable for FOX.
And that 7.32m for Criminal Intent is not that far off from their viewership for new episodes. If they continue to struggle at their current spot, I wonder if NBC might put on new episodes on Saturdays... |
