Group of numbers, the same throughout, beginning with 416. The rest of the numbers weren't "the numbers" as far as I could tell. I'm gonna re-watch and I'll post the exact transcript as far as I can see it.

About time some things are getting done! Last week when Alvin plugged AL I cheered, one thing that girl can do is pretend to die. Although I'm a little mad about Libby getting the drop. They went through all the trouble to set up what could have been an interesting back story with her in that looney bin then dropped it.

That's one thing that surprised me. They went through all the trouble of setting that up only to have it go nowhere.

Are we positive Libby is really dead? I know that is what it looked like, but remember what supposedly happened with the psychic guys daughter. Just a thought...

The other characters that died also had promising backtories that were just abandoned.

Good episode. Something actually happened. Figures they save all the good stuff for all the sweeps episodes.
Figures that Libby dies right before she tells everyone about Michael.

Will they explore that new hatch more ( the bank tube and were it leads ) now or wait until next season?
So this is all about, as Locke says, rats in a maze with no cheese. But is the 'cheese' just not what they think. What if this cloning idea is true but not for just cloning anOTHER, but for the purpose of healing? Perhaps there was no crash and it was set up ( stange makeup, fake beard ) and they are subjects to see if cloned cells, body parts can actually work.
I just cant seem to tie in why they have them pushing a button other than just having them do 'something' to keep them occupied.
A big question I have been asking myself is, did they really crash. As far as we know, not one of them remembers going down.Easy enough to remove oxygen to make them pass out.

Mittman 05-11-06 01:54 AM

Perhaps the psychic works for Dharma? I thought that maybe the girl did die, unlike what her father said. Maybe he was able to bring her back via the Hanso foundation's life extension experiment. This could also explain why dead bodies on the island (Jack's dad, Eko's brother, etc) appear alive to some of the people on the island. Perhaps the island can do more than cure Locke's legs or Rose's cancer . . . perhaps it can bring people back from the dead. The psychic wanted Eko to think his daughter's coming back to life was BS because he didn't want the secret to get out. It's as if Dharma has uncovered the fountain of youth.

Or perhaps I'm wrong and this is all going on in Hurley's messed up head.

they did show the tail crash in "The Other 48 Days" episode.

VHS? 05-11-06 02:17 AM

Did they know they crashed or just wake up like the front members did? I cant remember is why I ask.
Also, anyone notice Michael shooting twice at Libby? It wasnt like 2 quick shots either. There was a pause it seems as if he meant to do it and make sure.It seems like he was shocked, but after that first shot, a pause and then another shot.Seemed odd to me is all and probably nothing.

Also, in the new hatch, not that it would mean anything, but if they can have brand new spankin' Kenmore washer and dryer, what the hell are they doing with all those old ass TV's for the surveillance room ! Get some plasma screens man !

No pause from Alvin when he shot Libby twice. That's how it is when you try to doubletap a Sig P226.

VHS? 05-11-06 02:43 AM

First 4 images are the images from Eko quick flashback.Nothing really interesting but incase anyone wanted to know.

The next image after the 4th is the print out.Thought it may hold a clue so captured it.
The last image is of the screen which I thought might be interesting.
During the season, we have seen only >: | and now we have a 'block' in place of |
Did I miss something to when it changed?

Well this is the Lost writing staff. Remember how killing Boone was supposed to open new doors of character development for Locke and Shannon? Then they bump off Shannon because they never did anything with her?

It says Lymon, and then it says Obey in the middle. Are you sure it's not a Sprite ad?

A-aron 05-11-06 05:58 AM

did anyone notice on the printout if there were any signs that the number had NOT been pressed? If Fenry really didn't enter the numbers, then should it have shown on the log.

Also, since the people pushing the buttons believed that they were doing something important, the same could then be said for the "Others." They could be maintaining some sort of project that they believe is important. Remember, Locke would not let anything come between him and the entering of the numbers. Perhaps the Others hae the same mindset.

Snowmaker 05-11-06 05:58 AM

Was that some of the heroin on the table between the two chairs? Looked like the last to "observers" were having a bit of a party.

I don't want to give anything away, but -

Spoiler:
Libby's backstory will NOT be abandoned. We will learn MUCH more about her and her connection with another character in the season finale.

Edited to spoilerize for your protection.

I really have the feeling that Locke is going to die.

Goldberg74 05-11-06 07:31 AM

I will never ever forget the blankets if we go on a picnic.

That was heartbreaking.. Poor Hurley. :(

bralph 05-11-06 07:37 AM

I thought it was interesting that when Libby showed up at the airport in the back story, she was "normal". That means the island did not cure her psychosis (or whatever had her in the mental hospital).

boogieman03 05-11-06 08:24 AM

Oh man what a episode.
Eko rocks. I was soo glad it was "his" episode.
Interesting that those "bank tubes" are still running roughly 26 years later. I think it was made to look that old. The survivors are the experiment. The swan hatch is a skinner box. I'm starting to really believe that this is all a "game" (like David Fincher's The Game). I'm not sure if everybody there was picked specifically (which would be hard to do) or if they just chanced it with whomever was on the plane (which is my guess, or maybe a combo of both) and just let everybody's skeletons come out of their closet.

Nicely played on Sawyer's part. He kept the stash right under him.
Poor Hurley :( I think everyone here will remember to bring blankets to a picnic now.
Can't wait for next week's episode.
