|
Damn good episode and lead-in to the season finale. It's surprising how much Welling has improved since season one. He's now giving strong performances consistently. No freak of the week. No reset button. We'll see if it lasts into the next episode or into next season.
|
Well, it was trying to be "good" convoluted, but ended up being just confusing with Lionel working for "good", while Lionel just wanted to be understood and working for the "welfare of humanity".
If Martha had heat vision, it could have been "goodbye, Lionel". The LexLana "thing" is icky. So Lex got some new Jumba Juice running through his veins. I guess Lex will finally figure out that Clark's got some good mojo too. So where does Zod fit in all of this posturing? |
I think it was trying to confuse us just enough to make us tune into the season finale.
|
the season finale will not disappoint...
|
at least we're still getting to see Jonathan
it'd be sweet if the fortress made some sort of jonathan hologram so that he could be on every few episodes to give clark advice and knowledge about krypton |
I think it's safe to say that this was the best episode of the season.

Damning with the faint praise, I see... :D

Jesus some of you guys are hard to please. After the string of episodes we were dealt, this was a fantastic episode that moved the story along.
|
But it's always the same, start the season with 2 good episodes, and end the season with 2 good episodes, and everything in between is pretty average and middling.
|
That's not true.
The first half of the 100th episode was pretty kickass. Hence, the "½" out of the "possible 2½" |
Here's half a cookie, enjoy.

Agreed - this was Smallville at the top of its form, a totally satisfying episode. |
Who woulda thought that Kryptonian was so easy to read.
|
I liked it. Can't wait for the finale either.
|
Go figure, I stop watching and this episode ends up being a good one.
|
Reminded me of The X-Files too. Very "black oil" for some reason.
I like John Glover a lot. He's one of, if not THE best actors on the show. Lionel is a great character, and they've explored his good side before. So for one, I wonder what made him "good" again. For two, while being good is nice, it kind of completely takes away from Jonathan's death in ep 100. Instead of dying trying to protect his son, he dies because he had a temper and wouldn't listen. But his death may also have been cheapened by the fact that they brought John Schneider back and Clark SHOT HIM WITH HEAT VISION. I think it was a deceptively good episode, and it looks like things are going to get pretty dark. BUT, the whole story is one left hand turn away from stupid. |

Once it's all finsihed, I think most will say it's the best arc of the show's run. It's really going to be great  |
i have to say that the finale will leave you at the edge of your seat....
|
Great episode. I was really hoping for a two part finale, and they're going that way. A little disappointed that they gave away the ending in the preview last week, but oh well. Also, they never explained what happened when Jor-El, in Lionel's body, touched Brainiac and he disappeared. He was just hanging out with Lex a couple of scenes later like nothing happened.
Oh well. Next episode looks FANTASTIC, as long as they don't have Zod 'possess' Lex. |
I'll give a  for this episode.
