I almost woke up my daughter on more than one occasion while watching this.

Too many great moments to mention.

I've been saying for years that Johnnie C. deserves an Emmy - where the hell have you people been?

Some really funny stuff. Some really tragic stuff as well.

So, I am guessing Todd is Bi. Good for him.

I think The Todd maybe a trisexual, he will try anything once.

I'm gonna dissent, a little bit -- great episode EXCEPT for one thing. The "end the episode with a sappy song playing over the action" bit is officially played out for me. It's lame and only weakens the story for me, by having some song blasting out telling me "you should be really torn up right now." The whole final sequence would have been far more effective with silence for me. M*A*S*H didn't play pop songs over such moments, after all. It has worked for me in the past, but I'm sick of it -- I just think it's a cop-out that undermines the otherwise excellent scripting, and it's so overdone and hamhanded these days that it's rapidly become a cliché.

I am once again amazed that some of the best comedic moments and some of the best dramatic moments on TV are in Scrubs. The Todd was hilarious and the ending was heartbreaking.

Just finished watching, and that was such a tightly scripted 21 minutes of Scrubs goodness, it had it all, the highs, the lows, and the Todd! Wow.

I dont know if its possible but I think this season is much better than the others. I think the randomness really works for scrubs. With any luck this show will be on for a few more seasons.

^^And if there wasn't any music, I think these scenes would possibly come off TOO dramatic. You have to keep in mind that while these dramatic scenes are absolutely excellent, this is a comedy. And no music might feel more like a dramatic television show.

Very good episode. Kinda figured The Todd wasn't going to end up gay though, and the writers handled it great. Gotta say, the Janitor had me rolling with his expressions tonight - he has outstanding comic subtlety.
To quote Will & Grace - "I think Bisexual is just a stopover on the way to Gaytown." "Where's that?" "Just after Ricky Martinville."

On the DVD commentary, Bill Lawrence has discussed this rather extensively with multiple castmembers. I believe that ultimately he will end up gay as promised.

This show has always done this. The production staff puts a lot of effort in making the music match the moment. I thought it was an excellent call. Have you just started watching because this has been consistent since the first season?

An excellent resource for finding out songs for all episodes (including original tracks and their DVD substitutes):

finally saw the episode last night. great stuff. just out of curiosity, did anyone else think it was really obvious that jill was going to die? also, would they have actually used organs from someone that had cocaine in their system?

I think the biggest shocker is that somebody died in a hospital and there were 3 people who could use the organs present. That just doesn't happen from my understanding of how you have to match up people for organ donation.

Excellent episode.

So, is Cox going down that slippery slope he told JD not to? Or has Cox already done that and this is just another moment on his way down?

I think they might have been going for a "House" type of solution on that.

1. if they don't get these organs, they will die
2. if they DO get these organs, they will live, and have to go through cocaine detox.

Something like that, perhaps...
