Big Love "Eviction" 4/23/06

Spoiler:

Despite his ongoing feud with Roman, Bill considers launching an expensive new marketing campaign for Home Plus. Nicki wards off the advances of a pair of persistent missionaries; Margene is invited to a recital at Pam's church; Ben gets a strange vibe on a road trip with some fellow Seminary students; Alby finds novel ways to occupy his time after being excused from the Henrickson case; Sarah brings home an unexpected guest; Barb discovers Nicki's not-so-little secret; Roman gives the Henrickson clan his answer to Bill's settlement proposal.

Seems like I've been looking more forward to this show than the Sopranos. It definitly keeps getting better every episode.

What was the point of the whole Albie/gay dude scene?

BTW, since Mormons are a more 'behind the scenes' church...whats thier reaction to the show?

I think a great crossover episode would be Bill calling Tony Soprano and his crew to take care of the Roman situation.

Roman: "Son, you don't understand that I'm the one true prophet."

Paulie Walnuts: "You're gonna be one true dead fuck if you don't get your beak out of my friend's business."

My impression is that he was going to kill him. From the rope and duct tape in the trunk, plus that knife he pulled out. Maybe he chickened out. That or he was going have sex with him and.........He chickened out.

I'm trying to figure out what the "Mission" is that Roman sent him to do. I don't think he was supposed to break into Bill's office because Roman told him that from now on he would be handling the matter personally and that Albie was no longer to be involved.

I'll keep watching the show, but I'm starting to burn out on it a little bit. I lose patience quickly with shows that don't have any really likeable characters. Bill and Barb are wreckless for having their "affair". Hello, if you love your wife that much, don't marry 2 more women and go behind their backs. Nicky is just stupid and Margie isn't much better. Bill's other family is a bunch of losers too. Don't even get me started on Roman's brood.

I just don't know how they are going to clear up all of Bill's problems without some stupid plot twist that won't make any sense. If it becomes just about Bill trying to get out of the multiple holes he seems to be falling in, I don't want to watch that. I got enough problems in my own life.

I'm not sure how good a dramatic series would be if the characters had no problems or obstacles to overcome.

I was confused with that plot line as well. Roman tells Albie to go out of town for two days...didn't he pack the duct tape and knife then...and when he pulled up it seemed that him and the guy knew each other right? I guess if he'd made this trip without Roman directing him, then I would have though this is something he did on the regular, but I got thrown off.

I think Roman just sent him on a wild goose chase to get him out of Junipter Creek for a while.

I too was sure Albie was going to kill they guy to cleanse his soul or something like that. Same as how the LDS guys were trying to cleanse nikki.

I actually felt bad for her when Bill was having 'problems'.

I like how Bill's mom is stepping up now, and getting behind the plan to take down Roman.

The show has been reupped for season 2. It's a grower for sure.

I am loving this show. The whole Albie subplot was just weird. He's just an overall creepy character...very effective though.

Albie reminds me too much of Craig Kilborn. It was a good episode though.
Ben's friend definately seems gay.

Anyone else get the feeling that Ben and Margie are going to "hook-up"?

BTW, loving this show!

Do Mormans subscribe to HBO?

That Albie motel scene was truly one of the most bizarre scenes I've ever seen in a tv or movie.

This show started off pretty slowly but it is definitely growing on me.

The stuff with Alby made no sense othr then to point out again how creepy he is.

They are going to have a lot of stuff to resolve before the season is over.

"These tires are advertised as $49.00, but by the time you get out of the store, they're never $49.00."

Yeah Im not sure about the whole Albie subplot, but I like it...I just wish they would really start fleshing out the characters a bit more. I have to say right now that I like Margene and Barb characters the best, and want to see some more "backstory" on both.

I watched my first episode of Big Love today. Heard some good things about it, decided to give it a try, and guess need some updates on this.

Who exactly is Albie?

Albie is Roman's son.

Nikki still needs a beating, damn. I think she's got Carm Soprano beat for biggest bitch on TV.

I've only missed one episode, the first one, and this show still confusses me to no end. Yet it's somehow one of the shows I look foward to the most in the week. I really need the DVD set, to bad it's going to be an HBO $70 release.

I think they smuggled in David Lynch as a guest writer.

I think the Albie being gay subplot may turn out to be a way out for Bill. Roman has his balls in a vice grip with his brother as an agent of the real estate scam. If Bill were to find out that Albie were gay, he could blackmail Roman.

Note: Of course I don't think that being gay is wrong or something to be ashamed of, but a nutjob like Roman would certainly take issue with Albie being gay.

I think even the "nicest" of people on this show would have a problem with someone being gay.

Tina looks a whole lot better as this character than as Mac, but it's hard to notice anything else when she's standing next to Lily Kane.

I'm still enjoying this show very much. I've already tired of Grey's Anatomy and dropped it, but I consider this a must see every week.

I guess it must be a whole lot different in Utah, but 2 LDS kids came to my door back when I was in high school and if they had acted like that, my friends and I would have sent them right to see the angel Moroni.
