Damn good episode. You knew the recording would be intercepted to drag things out for a few more hours, but it still kicked ass. I just hope Aaron isn't toast. I'll be pissed if he goes out like a chump just like Tony.

It's felt like Season 2 Redux all year long and that was only enhanced by Mike Novick having to decide whether or not to plot against the President. Of course this time we're actually rooting FOR the guy.

"My target is shooting at me! I have no reason to suspect his girlfriend is even on the premises, but she must be in that airplane hangar over there. I know, I'll go inside and use her as a hostage! Cover me!"

Agent Curtis come in! Talk to me Curtis! Where are you? Damnit!!

Did I miss something? Did Curtis die or is he home taking a nap or what's the deal? No way he's been interrogating Bierko for this long.

When Jack tossed the recording to Robocop, all I could think of was the scene in Naked Gun 33 1/3 when Drebbin exhanged the bomb for a gun...

If I were Jack, I'd say f-u to Henderson, shoot Audrey and say f-u again... But since it is Jack "I'm a god amongst men" Bauer, things will work out, lol. He is the American version of James Bond Hell, he puts 007 to shame!

A poster in another thread made a great point about how he emotes actuall physical pain when he recieves bad news.

Plus, his use of ghasps and breathing is so good...you can feel the breathlessness when Heller confronted him.
Let me chime in for William Devane as Heller too. Devane always plays intense better than anyone.
I hope Aaron isn't dead.
Cool episode.

How many more episodes are left, 6? I think we started at 7am and it's currently 1 am after this episode, right? So, what, 5 more weeks (if you assume a 2-episode finale again)?

Wow, what an amazingly predictable episode... no copies made of the recording, check; Chloe will get out of custody, check; Robocop takes Audrey hostage, check; last second call to save the President's ass, check.

The only thing missing was a random killing of a regular character.

Maybe that'll be the subject of the next 24 video game.

Has anybody thought about the fact that it would have been impossible for FLOTUS' secretarty/helper to have gotten that tape to the bank? The call to Logan was after the president was killed and the assistant was already at the retreat and there for the entire day. Oh well.

Still thought this was a great episode. Next week looks intense. The progression of the show has been interesting. The first 13 episodes of the first season were actually pretty close to real time, and even season 2 was not bad, but they must all have secret service teleporters or time machines this year becuase every location in LA is within 2 or 3 minutes of each other.

Will still watch and enjoy every episode.

P.S. They are really making The Sentinel look like a movie version of 24 with an A-list cast, but I am sure they are overplaying Kiefer's part.

That was great.

Heller: You're going to resign!
Pres: Whaa! Am not!
Heller: Are too! Or I'll tell!
(VP enters)
VP: Hey guys!
Heller: Tell him.
Pres: I..uh...I...um...
*ring*
Robocop: Got it.
Pres: Heller, YER FIIIIRED!
Heller: Doh!
VP: WTF!

The Pres is a lock for any Emmy nomination this year.

Well, Heller's guy gave us a regular killing of a random character. Does that count?

Seriously. He needs to join that little army that's having tea in Bill Buchanan's house.

I dig the new music this season, except for Chloe's little guitar spy theme. Bleeech.

Was it just me or did Jack seem mildly disinterested in Audrey's near fatal wound?

Yeah, at least Bauer was married for more than 15 minutes before his wife got capped.

That was awesome. Such a simple trick, but man that blew my mind.

Agreed. The political side of the show has definitely been the most interesting since the first season. Kudos to the writers.

I thought the same thing. Thought he would put her out of her misery and nab Henderson. Although this move would likely draw more criticism since they have reached the max breaking point on killing main characters this season.

Yes. He blew me away last year, and I was pumped when he returned last week. He is a great actor and is amazing on 24.

Good grief. They always end the seasons on the Monday before Memorial Day. There are 6 more left (the last installment on 5/22 is 2 hours):

115 Day 5: 1:00 AM - 2:00 AM 4/24/2006
116 Day 5: 2:00 AM - 3:00 AM 5/1/2006
117 Day 5: 3:00 AM - 4:00 AM 5/8/2006
118 Day 5: 4:00 AM - 5:00 AM 5/15/2006
119 Day 5: 5:00 AM - 6:00 AM 5/22/2006
120 Day 5: 6:00 AM - 7:00 AM 5/22/2006

Great episode.

Say what you want about Jim Heller, but no parent is more willing that him to have his child restrained, bound, and/or injured in the pursuit of justice.

Where are the Suvarovs? Could they be in on this?

Completely off the wall Sentinel speculation -- Kiefer turns out to be a bad guy.

The Bus

I liked when she called out raccoon eyes.
I wonder how many takes the director did of that scene before just giving up.

I liked it, but the one part I really couldn't buy was Heller attacking Jack. Heller knows Jack's one of the true good guys out there and he could've at least tried to talk it over with him. Jack did, after all, save him from being executed by Islamic terrorists and saved his daughter at the same time. And what thanks does he get?--a sucker punch to the windpipe...

Six more hours of the show left.

Say, isn't that how long it'll be before Palmer's body is flown out of L.A.?

Hmmmm.....

That is the one thing that bugged me last night. It's almost like he is an older version of Jack. Friends or relatives be damned, he's going to do anything necessary to get the job done.
