I think they need to move the camera back a few feet or shoot her through gauze, she looked like skeletor last night.

She had a pale white glow around her eyes and on her cheekbones where the rest of her face was beige foundation. It was spooky.

Was she good though?? I missed the premiere last night, and want to catch tonight's but I am not sure how I feel about her taking on such a serious role yet.

I thought she was awful. The whole show seemed dumbed down to me, like it was aimed at 6th graders. I didn't care for her or the new format, music, set etc.
I'm officially switching to NBC with Brian Williams. The one thing I'll miss is some of the other CBS personalities who I've watched all these years. That and Lara Logan. That woman has bigger balls than any man I know based on the crazy places she reports from.

It's all her fault that Rosie's on TV again. I can forgive alot of things, but not that. :)

The one thing I've noticed with Katie is that when she was on The Today Show where she could be perky and bubbly she came off as cute, but when she decided to become serious she looked and sounded kinda mean.

She did alright on her first night but it was so dumbed down that her serious side didn't show through (a good thing except for the fact that this show should be serious). However, with people looking to the nightly news for serious reports, the cutsey 'sound off' segments and the like will not mix well with actual news and probably won't keep viewers around.

Katie Couric won life's lotto along with that putz Adam Sandler.

Actually caught part of the broadcast yesterday. I didn't see to like her that much. I definitely think she has her work cut out for her, and that she may have been a better fit for the Today Show. It just seems like she is trying to hard to be serious.

Work cut out for her?? Reading a teleprompter is the easiest gig on tv.

agreed and it was really stupid of them to do this when they ratings were going up each week after they brought in Bob Schieffer. It'd be one thing if there ratings were staying the same or going down but they really shot themselves in the foot on this one.
