American Idol -- Final Ten -- 03/28/06

The ten finalists perform before the judges and the TV audience.

Tonight's theme: Songs of the 21st century.

Pick the person that will be going home Wednesday night.

On Wednesday, Shakira and Wyclef Jean will be performing their latest single, "Hips Don't Lie." The results show starts at 9/8c!

I vote Lisa based on past results. Really, does singing matter now or just mobilizing your "base" regardless of performance. I really want Taylor off my television though - he is a one-trick pony - whooo!

Wooo!

Struz 03-28-06 08:21 AM

Lisa has got to go.
Then Bucky next week.

Tommy Ceez 03-28-06 08:39 AM

If Bucky were to strangle lisa to death during her performance, I believe America would keep him around a few more weeks.

al_bundy 03-28-06 09:13 AM

voted Mandisa, but now I think Taylor may end up going home

looks like his thing is older music and it will be interesting to see if he can perform something from the last few years

tommyp007 03-28-06 09:25 AM

Paris

Groucho 03-28-06 09:26 AM

I voted Bucky. I don't think he has the fan base to save him.

If not Bucky, than Ace.
If not Bucky or Ace, than Lisa.

mookiemeister 03-28-06 09:43 AM

Bucky was close to elimination last week. So I think he's the one leaving this week.

ryuryu2949 03-28-06 09:58 AM

Voted Bucky, but I hope there isnt a surprise (i.e. Elliott) leaving. We shall see.

DRG 03-28-06 10:34 AM

I predict whoever is in the bottom three, Paula will cry about it and complain that it isn't right.

I'm just praying Mandisa performs "Milkshake" tonight.

There are still things he could pick that would suit his voice great. If I were him, I'd do "Drift Away" since the Uncle Kracker version was just a couple of years ago.

magiccmom 03-28-06 11:21 AM

I voted for Lisa, but now that I think about it, I dont think Kevin's over 90 and under 9 fan base will swing to Bucky, so I think he is in more trouble.

After last week's lame performance, Taylor needs to step it up with something a little more challenging or deep. The dancing around is starting to be a distraction and he needs to go back and prove his depth again.

Ace should sing some Prince since that is almost always in falsetto and the judges love that. Of course he could sing the freakin phone book for all I care

Depending on how diverse the available song list is, he shouldn't have a problem. A likely scenario is he's stuck doing something like "I Don't Want To Be" or "Accidentally in Love" which wouldn't be a "wow" performance but he could do well enough with to stay afloat.

GeoffreyL 03-28-06 12:04 PM

I think it may be Bucky, but I will wait til after the show to make my bottom 3 prediction. Does anyone else think Taylor looks like he is trying to lift himself off the ground using only his head?

Charlie Goose 03-28-06 12:14 PM

This is probably the strongest top 10 in the show's 5 year run.

Not being that familiar with music from this century, I can't even begin to predict what they will sing tonight. However, I do predict that Kellie will giggle and say something cutesy-stupid which will fan the flames of national hatred. Still, she won't be voted off.

Tommy Ceez 03-28-06 12:45 PM

The performer with the biggestr problems singing a song from the last 6 years will be Paris and Lisa, because they have no musical tastes of thier own, and are direct reflections of thier parents/grandparents.

Groucho 03-28-06 12:59 PM

I think I'm going to give the DialIdol utility a try tonight. I don't normally vote, but this sounds like a fun way to do it.

moocher 03-28-06 06:44 PM

Kinda strange that last week's show was 2 hours long. They kicked one off and this week it's one hour long. Not like Idol not to stretch things out.

I'll reserve judgment until the show but obviously Bucky and Lisa are most vulnerable. Lisa is probably gone without a very strong performance.

SMB-IL 03-28-06 07:06 PM

It doesn't even matter what anyone else does now -- if people are voting on SINGING, Lisa is SO going home. Ugh! Simon was right, it was painful!

Yup, yup.

HSX as well as sportsbooks agree.

deadlax 03-28-06 07:10 PM

Wow, Pickler is sucking it up, probably worse than Lisa.

Ace has made a great song selection, but the flamboyance in his voice is killing this version.

Daytripper 03-28-06 07:14 PM

And Ace was worse than Lisa and Pickler combined.

This was rock!??

GuessWho 03-28-06 07:14 PM

3 stinkers in a row

DGibFen 03-28-06 07:15 PM

What is this, American Scared night? The first 3 have not sang very well, and at times, have sounded very weak.

OK stud, we get it, you have a hot scar.

EDIT: Wait, he got it from playing ball and falling on a T-Bar?? rotfl
