Real Life "Sopranos"?
I had to post this here...a friend posted it on a message board elsewhere on the interweb, thought it was hilarious.
My husband flew to Milan, Italy last night to spend a couple days visiting one of his biggest suppliers, a factory located 40 miles north to the north. Anyway he arrived this morning (6 hours ahead of here I think), picked up his rental car and drove straight to the factory. The president of the company demanded a special Sunday meeting in honor of his visit, LOL. My husband is accompanied on this trip by his chief sales engineer, a younger guy around 30. When they arrived, he was greeted by the president, an interpreter, some engineers and get this...assorted bodyguard-type guys in running suits. They asked my husband for the name of his driver, it took him a minute, then he started laughing - they mistook his engineer for a personal chauffeur!. At the meeting, my husband was seated across from the president, with the interpreter and engineers on either side. The guys in running suits stood around them, silently, with their backs against the wall. As my husband discussed production delays, the president suddenly became quiet, then the interpreter spoke: "I know what you see in the rest of this country and throughout Europe, but trust me on this. In *my* company, we have no labor strikes!" My husband nodded and the man repeated himself, then asked "you understand?" They then announced the president had to leave early due to an invitation from the state senator to attend a local sporting event. The driver pulled up in a stretch with the senator who was introduced to my husband! The president then introduced my husband to his driver..I kid you not...name: Guido. Guido was dressed in a black turtleneck, black jeans and black tweed jacket. As he outstretched his hand to shake my husband's...my husband saw it in a flash..he was packing heat! They made their goodbyes and the president told my husband they would be flying to an factory tour tomorrow. Looking puzzled, it was explained - they were being transported in an Italian Army helicopter. He's a little taken aback at this mix of businessmen, politicians, bodyguards, guns, drivers and use of Army helicopters for business meetings, LOL. |
Guido is a common name in Italy. Forgot what the English translation is.
It's originally a Spanish name, and probably came to Italy when Spain ruled northern Italy. |

I guessed that but didn't know for sure. |
AJ needs to be drop-kicked about a zillion times.
|
AJ was in that scene? Didn't notice. Was kinda fixated on Meadow.
|
those were some cool muslims
|
Wow. AJ actually has a heart. Too bad he still doesn't have a brain.
|
Is AJ gonna turn into a BAMF?

Most. Depressing. Episode. Ever.
Just brought back so many memories when my father had his heartattack in 2000. So many sleepless nights in the hospital. Next week's episode looks like it picks up dramatically. |
Do you think Junior shot Tony on purpose? I mean, did he KNOW what he was doing?
|
My guess is that Tony won't come out of his coma until everything is good and fucked up with both families. I wonder if AJ might make good on his threat to off Uncle Junior? That open incision had me all freaked out.
Overall a good ep., and while I mostly didn't care for the Costa Mesa stuff, it was an interesting Last Temptation of Christ kind of scenario, and it was interesting to see Gandolfini not using his tough guy voice for once. |
