The Unit - "Stress" - 3/14/06

"Stress"
A mission to recover a fallen Chinese satellite turns into an opportunity to capture a wanted terrorist.
I thought the pilot was pretty solid and am looking forward to tonight's episode.

Preview here.

Why wouldn't threads for this show appear when I search for "Unit"? It boggles the mind.

I am also looking forward to the episode. It sounds like it should be action packed.

Well, "whiney wife" redeems herself a little.

I watched the whole show last time, but tonight I fast-forwarded through all of the wife stuff. Just drives me nuts.

I liked the rest of it though.

This episode was really bland and pretty predictable if you ask me. I look forward to next week's reported improvement.

"Star Jones" is annoying as hell. I know her character is suppose to be sympathetic and understanding but she just comes out as a bitch. What's up with the last scene? Was that suppose to be shocking.

The wives seem like a cult, except boring. Fast Forward is my friend. The ending was dumb. Otherwise....it was ok

I'm getting a creepy cult feeling from the home life with Star as the leader. Reviews have said this show gets better, I hope it's quick.

Agreed. I loved all the dialogue and interaction between the "unit" in the pilot, but these wives are predictable and boring. I said this show could be fun if it didn't take itself too seriously, but it looks like that ship is sailing. Pretty much any enthusiasm for this show evaporated. At least Persis is kind of hot.

Crap, I missed this the first time through! Guess I wasn't the only one thinking "cult".

It seems pretty obvious that the show has caught on based upon its ratings success. It debuted comfortably in the top 20 and dropped less than the normal 10% in its second week (from 18.50 million viewers to 17.78 million viewers). If the quality does take a turn for the better starting next week, this show should be a no brainer pick up for CBS.

Does this mean CBS will starting going military? They'll compliment their 15 crime dramas with 15 military dramas?

I can't believe this is a Shawn Ryan show, where is that edge? I guess the first sign of a sell-out was seeing they have it at the less edgier 9pm slot.

It's as bland as NCIS and the other crappy mediocre dramas CBS is now peddling these days.

What a waste of President Palmer!

The notion of any kind of an "edge" was thrown out the window when the show was bought by CBS. It should be on FX.
