Nice swerve with an oobatz Junior shooting Tony. Too bad it wasn't Janice. :)
Very sad to see Gene go. I guess his wife didn't know about him and the feds. When he mentioned to Tony that he wanted to move to Florida, I waited for them to set him up for the rest of the episode. Gene was a lot mellower than he was last season when he broke a bottle over Little Paulie's head. |

I liked gene's wife :)
|
Gene's wife was cute, but annoying. She married a mob guy, what did she expect would be in their future? Even Gene should know he's tied in with them forever... don't get your hopes up. You knew it wasn't going to end nicely.
Would be cool to see the ripples if Tony passes away or just struggles to survive. |

Wow....just when things were looking good with the FBI's sudden loss of informants.....
Mentioning Pussy Malenga was a nice touch. I thought that the lack of a preview for next week's episode was a little detail that just added to the suspense. |

Uncle Junior was watching Kubrick's Paths of Glory. Tony will spend the next couple episodes in the hospital. Christopher will fuck everything up. (Can someone say Godfather?) Excellent episode, as usual. The hanging was intense. |
Great episode, though I think he'll live through this one.

I think (don't quote me on this, though - I don't own a copy of that one to confirm) that Laswell was also somehow connected with the Afrika Bambaataa/John Lydon track used on the pilot from last season as well. |

That hanging was pretty disturbing but probably realistic. I hated seeing that guy go for some reason, but it wasn't a shock he wasn't retiring to sunny Florida.
For some reason I thought Christopher's "I'm not scared of him" was one of the best-delivered lines of the ep., and I hope that goes somewhere. Welcome back~ |

I was a little disappointed that the episode didn't open with the traditional "Tony goes out to get newspaper" bit.

Great Episode, so glad that its back
No way Tony goes like that, he will pull out of this. he has to die in some amazing way (that is if he dies) and it has to be ironic, leaving a lasting impression, not Junior killing him And about the flashback theory, would that really be interesting? They kept saying how good the year was, nobody dies obviously. That would not make a very compelling season. |

But I don't think Tony dies from this. They showed him on the weight scales pushing 280 pounds. I think he will be saved because of his fat.
I think the lack of a preview for next week is just to have everybody in the country talking about whether he's dead or not. If they show a preview for next week they would most likely have to include a hospital or funeral home, thus giving something away. |
He's not dead - 911 automatically put a trace on all silent calls.
My prediction? Janice WILL say "I told you so." |
i think this is the season finale..not the premiere. Every season premiere showed Tony picking up the paper everytime...I think it's going backwards... Also people are asking why there was no preview for next weeks episode which could only mean this was the season finale. but the thing is...where will it go from there? who knows.. Oh wells i guess we gotta find out next week.
Also if you watch the season trailer you will notice tony say "you going to take care of his kids?" thats the thing.. could he be talking about whacking someone? But if they really do a flashback Who the fuck died? So i'm not really sure the flashback theory is right.. |
I seriously doubt they are going backwards. I just really can't see them doing that in the last season of the show. It would piss off way too many people.
Just for shits and giggles, let's say they were for a second, though. Does that mean that tonight's episode was the series finale, or just for this part of the season? Don't forget, there are 12 eps this run, and then a break until January '07, right? Why would they make everyone wait half a year just to see what equates to the beginning 8 episodes of the season, with the final, climactic moment everyone will be left with being Tony going out to get the morning paper? Nah, that just doesn't jive at all. |
