Taylor really won me tonight. That's what I am talking about, throw it all down on the stage and see how it plays out. Tonight I am voting for him because I love him and want his cd and Gedeon because if I don't and he gets voted off I will feel very, very guilty. Feeling guilty sucks.
My least favorite of the night was Ace. Whatever appeal he has misses me entirely. He's by far my least favorite of the bunch. He should go far.

Here's why I hope TAYLOR HICKS wins it all:
- His is the only performance that I re-wind and watch over and over again on Tivo. He's just so damn interesting. He rocked the house.
- I didn't even know that song he sang (Michael Macdonald?), but he made it sound great!

I've given up on most of the ladies (I'm slightly sticking to Kelly just to have one female in my group of favorites), and really do believe it is the mens' competition to lose. Taylor, Chris, Elliot > everyone else. The only way none of them win is if the public is tonedeaf or are voting on likability (though I think all 3 are very likable).
Hopefully Kevin gets kicked out. I liked him until he put me to sleep singing One Last Cry (my favorite breakup song evar). I really don't know why Paula and Randy are giving him a verbal handjob every week. He has no range at all. Listening to him should be punishment at gitmo.

I hope Kevin and Will go tonight, but I'm thinking maybe Bucky (who was far better than either of them, but maybe won't get the votes because there's something about geeky 16 year olds that brings in the votes. I could seriously see Chicken Little becoming this year's Red).
I really thought this was Taylor and Ace's night. I've always liked Taylor, but I was really surprised out how well Ace pulled his song off. He's pretty damn gorgeous, too, and I'm all for a little eye candy in this competition.

I despise Ace because he can get by just on his looks. The prettiest person doesn't usually get to the very end, but I wouldn't mind him getting an early boot.

I like Bucky, but unless he steps up his game next week, he'll be in the next round of eliminations.

I think that Will and Kevin are going to go, but I voted based on last night's performance alone. That being said, I thought that Chris SHOULD go after last night's song. Good GOD that was so bland, and frankly, I could have sung a better version of "Broken."
I loved Taylor's performance though...damn that was good.

He's "adorable" so everyone is nice to him and I don't blame them, but he can't sing worth shit.
Will was also painfully bad.

he may have peaked at the auditions.. but in the auditions and the early weeks, he stood out as one of the better singers in the group... but he has been going down since then.

but he does a very good job within his genre.. i dont think he will do as well with themes, but we'll have to wait and see (assuming he survives)
but the thing in his favor.. is there wont be more 'rounds of eliminations'.. after tonight, there will be 1 kicked at a time and it will be out of the boys and girls.. So i would think bucky would stand a decent chance of outlasting several of the girls.

Gedeon reminds of the SNL skit that Eddie Murphy did as Buck Wheat and to some exent Mr. Robinson Neighborhood. Everytime I see him I think Eddie is back!!!!
Kevin should go by the way.

While I think Kevin deserves to go, at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if he actually got the highest number of votes.
I'm picking Will and Giddeon this week. Will has had two down weeks in a row. Giddeon's painting weirded out a bunch of people who were already on the border about him anyway.
This contest, while definitely about talent, is WAY more a popularity contest with the public. My best example of this is Jasmine who beat a WAY WAY more talented Latoya Lundon.
Anyway, Giddeon and Will are gone.

From: I was here but I disappear
kind of a weak show.
Bucky: He has a good voice for that sort of song but he's not impressive enough to shine on covers. That's a guy who needs to write music because as a singer alone he ain't cutting it.
Gedeon: First off, why does he paint on the wrong side of the canvas? Does he think the stretcher bars are supposed to be a frame? His performance was good, however. He's got the soul thing down.
Chris: Also good, but I'm sick of the shmoopy new-rock songs. I either want to hear him do something totally different, like an angsty soul song or some funk or Motown. Or a rock song with a bit of a sense of humor or playfulness to it, like Aerosmith or Janis Joplin. These super-serious blah rock songs are killing me.
Kevin: Nice kid, send him home please.
Taylor: Excellent. Lost his breath a little bit at one point, but he's great. Dance was a little nuts, but it was an exciting performance. That's a song that needs the full build of its entire running time, not a little snippet like that.
Will: Seeya.
Elliot: Bland, boring performance. It made me realize something: You can add some edge and roughness to a smooth song and make it great but you can't really smooth out a rough edged song unless you drastically reconfigure it. That was well sung but it had none of the passion or fire that the original had. Bryan Adams may not be "cool" but his voice does sound great when he's really pushing it and this performance removed that strength from the song.
Ace: Hitting wrong notes and bad sounds all over the place. It is his charm that the judges are responding to. I thought they were going to slam him for singing so off, but they didn't. Obviously they want his charisma in the final rounds.

Not to sound like a homophobe here, (like people accuse you of being if ya say anything bad about the 'pretty boy'
)but I think Ace just looks weird. Like gals who like black guys with green eyes...never understood that either. BUT, I am hearing people saying Ace "missed notes" in his falsetto. I don't think there was a missed note in the lot. Falsetto can be odd for some to listen to, but the way he went into and out of the head tones and back to the "normal voice" was flawless. And this had NOTHING to do with his supposed "looks." IMHO
