I had those hopes for "Love Monkey" (and that was a good show). Ah, youth.

I got to go to a screening of the pilot a few months back and the show was terrible. Hopefully they went back and re-shot a lot of it to actually make it funny. But from what I saw the show won't last too long.

I am watching the pilot now and I find myself liking it. I will watch the second episode tonight.

I only made it halfway through TNAOOC and couldn't take any more. I'm gonna go off now and watch the 'Arrested Development' episodes JLD was in and fondly remember the good old times.

I dozed off 10 minutes in and almost missed the start of 24.

laugh track is killing it for me already and I'm only 5min into the show.. I understand that a laughtrack is a staple of the sitcom but they don't need to pound away on the "HAHAHAHAAHAHAAH!HAHAHAAH!" key over and over every few seconds.

I only half watched the pilot, but I thought the second episode was pretty good.

I liked it a lot. I didn't notice the laugh track to be overbearing, like many other sitcoms.

I think JLD has great comedic timing and I thought she did really good. And the kid wasn't some overly cutsie type.

I hope it sticks around, and all you poopie heads here give it a second chance.

Who is Wanda Sykes? Was she in it? I don't know her...

I tried watching it, but my CBS affiliate's audio feed got behind by a second, so it was hard to watch (for 15 or so minutes), so I quit and just finished up with Deal or No Deal and then flipped over to 24.

Haven't seen last night's second episode as I was watching 24, but I enjoyed the pilot well enough to keep up with it for a few more episodes.

I liked it. Definitely a typical sitcom offering, but Julia is hilarious as usual. Nice to see Andy Richter in the 2nd episode.

/No Wanda Sykes. As I said before, she is not a regular

I didn't know it was on Monday. If they show the first eps again let us know.

I tuned in for the second episode. After about five mins. of getting pounded by the overbearing laugh track I switched it off.
Doubt I'll be back except maybe as a background while making dinner or cleaning guns or something, if there is absolutely nothing else on. Sorta like how Joey was.

I was going to give it a shot, but since the regular time slot is during 24 and RAW, I decided to pass it by. Having Andy Rectum and Wanda Suckes as guest stars helped that decision.

I agree with you 100%. Her timing makes the show work.

Nice to see Andy Richter get a guest spot.

She's a black comedian who was in Curb Your Enthusiasm among other things. (I think she's also going to be in Clerks II.)

Is there really a reason to threadcrap all over the place? I can understand if you didn't like the show, but I mean you only gave it 5 minutes?

Correct. She was in a couple of the video diaries for the movie.

I don't hate Wanda Sykes. I actually liked the first few episodes of Wanda At Large.

Ratings are in and the first episode beat it's lead-in and the second retained 90% of 2 and a Half Men's rating. I expect CBS would have to be pretty happy with those kind of numbers.

It beat KOQ's which was one of the funniest episodes of the serises IMO?

Meh, it was ok. A little akward. I'll watch the one from 9:30 sometime to see if it was better then the pilot.

I thought it was a pretty good show, but if Wanda Sykes joins the cast, I'm movin' on. She makes Hattie McDaniel look like Shirley Chisolm.

I really liked both episodes, the second moreso than the first.

As for KOQ (which is probably one of my faves of all time), I really hope it gets picked up again. Right now, the only thing stopping it is that both of the stars contracts are up now I believe.

Laugh track is bad. I think it is completely uneccessary.

Kid is obnoxious. Hate the little wise-ass kids. No 8 yr old will say that crap.

Otherwise I think the show has some potential. Pretty inoffesnsive. I don't think it will last though.

I agree. This is definitely one of the BETTER sitcoms to come out in the past few years. I never understood who watches shows like Two and Half Men and King of Queens, yet doesn't like a show like this!?!

Writing is tight, characters are great and Julia Louis Dreyfuss is better than ever.

I don't know why all the criticism over the laugh track that is no different than half the other sitcoms on right now. I don't notice anything particularly obtrusive.

As for Wanda Sykes, I agree, you either love her or hate her but here she is dialed way down and not at all like her standup act.

I've seen every ep so far and not a bad one among them. definitely a keeper for me!

I've watched all the episodes. Their kid Richie is hilarious.
