Funny thing is, you're far from the only one. I've seen people mention in various Shield threads on several boards that they wonder if Tavon is ever going to wake up and remember what happened...

It'd be pretty funny for the last scene of series to be Vic and Acaveda sharing a prison cell.

I have to wonder if/when Dutch is gonna go bad. They set it up way back in (I think) season 3 when he strangled the cat.

Although split up into two parts, is this the final season? I heard rumors of that, but wasn't sure.

That's undecided, but it definitely seems like it will be.

I think that Claudette is dead. What an unbelievable ending. I was floored.

Spoiler:
With Shawn Ryan saying two people are leaving the show, my guess is that it is Claudette, and Kavanaugh.

spoiler is about something that happens in two weeks..so don't look unless you want to know..

I don't think it's
Spoiler:
Kavanaugh, as it's his first season of the show, but it's always possible they take him out or get him taken out to end the investigation, but that probably wouldn't happen as then it would really look like they're taking out anyone against them... It's not Claudette, at least not yet, as she's back in two weeks according to the episode description) ..doesn't mean her illness won't get worse and she could die, but all is possible..
...I guess we'll have to see...

We've heard the rumors of what will happen in a couple weeks. It seems like the perfect fake-out for us to assume Claudette is dead.

Spoiler:
I think that Kavanagh is only signed to the first 11 episodes, which is why I was assuming he would be gone.

I couldn't see this being the last season for the show. Shawn Ryan / FX & Chiklis gotta be banking on this thing. Plus, it's the best show on tv(since the demise of list) IMO so I'll be really sad

I'd be sad when it's not on too, but a show like this can only go on for so long. I WANT this show to go out on top...not turn into an X-Files deal and start to have actors wanting out. This season has involved bringing the storylines back into the fold from earlier seasons, which to me indicates they're wrapping this up.

Honestly if they continue after this season...what storylines could they develop that would top this IAD thing???

Good point. Actually really good point; there isn't really anywhere left to go. Damn you!

I think this split season may be the way they have gone specifically because there could be room for maybe another season or two if The Unit doesn't succeed well enough to be picked up beyond its initial order.

Yeah, there is also that.

It's going to be interesting to see how much of The Unit appears to have Ryan's fingerprint on it.

Maybe Chiklis doesn't want to make the same mistake Shelley Long made by leaving a popular TV show for a non-existant movie career. Chiklis may have requested the "pause" in the season to wait to see if his new movie Rise is popular. If it looks like he will be a big star they wrap up the series. If it bombs they leave the door open for season 6.

I'm totally with JayDerek on this one.... I'd MUCH have rather have the series end while it's on top rather than stay around for the sake of doing so. Everything right now is being set up perfectly for the proper closure.

As much as I'd miss the series, I'd have no problem revisiting it from time to time on dvd..

I don't want to see the series take a turn for the worse, but I wouldn't at all be worried about that happening for at least 2 more seasons (~30 episodes). 7 seems like a magic number.

Regardless, Great episode!
I would only classify it as "stunt casting" if they were to advertise it as a selling point: "Guest starring Jimmy Johnson!" I never heard a single mention of Johnson being on the ep except for when Johnson talked about it during one of the halftime shows this football season. He certainly wasn't shown or mentioned in any of the promos for this week's ep or even at the beginning of the season.

To me, it seemed almost like maybe he's a fan of the show and had someone on the inside who could write him a small part. I would be curious to know how exactly he happened to get involved.

I had no idea that was Johnson.
