Did I also see that one of the books Locke was looking through in the hatch was "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge"?

aktick 02-08-06 10:10 PM

Gary Troup, eh? Anagram for "purgatory?" :nopanic:

Josh H 02-08-06 10:22 PM

Excellent episode.

Looks like they're tossing the Locke camp vs. Jack camp idea out...unless we'll have 3 groups now. That was sorely needed, something major to happen to create more drama among the survivors.

And it looks like the island plot will be heating up soon as well.

Can't wait for the rest of the season.

????

*Spoiler about tonight's episode*
I am feeling so dumb. I LOVE lost and half the fun for me is figuring out things I miss. But I dont "get" the ending...with Sawyer telling his girl to leave, then he sat in the car and counted down and went back in and the bag of money he had given her was back in the chair?? Did she take it back in there?
Please forgive my stupidity!!

beatccr 02-08-06 10:28 PM

i've been meaning to ask every week, but why are they all out on the beach again? what happened with the caves? i know they were trying to stay together as one group b/c of the others but why pick the beach and not the caves?

Jimmy James 02-08-06 10:30 PM

Perhaps the hatch location makes the beach seem like a much better idea than the caves.

I have no idea, really.

Go to lost.abc.com and listen to the podcast, they mention it there. Basically we're to assume the caves were a "safety" area, and now that they have the hatch, there's no need for the cave area.

He switched bags on her after he loaded the bag up with the money. He gave her the fake bag and slid the real one onto the chair under the table.

My DVR cut off just as Sawyer looks over at the empty driver seat in the car. What happens after that?

Yep. It's a short story, basically about a Southern man who is about to be hanged by Union soldiers, and in the seconds before it happens, he imagines the noose breaking and that he's racing to freedom. But it ends with the guy hanging their with a broken neck.

They also did an episode of Twilight Zone based on this -smile-.

He counts off a few Mississippis, then goes inside and pulls out a dining room chair w/ a bag on it. Said bag has the $600k. He begins to leave and sees a picture of the two smiling. He looks at the pic, lays it face-down, and leaves.

He walks back into the house, the bag of money is on the chair under the table. Cut back to the island he answers Charlies question ("How can someone think up something like that?") .... "I'm a bad person... I've never done a good thing in my life."

edstein 02-08-06 10:51 PM

Thanks guys.

Capsule summary of the episode, all the info none of the fun:

...on second thought, buy the episode from iTunes, you'll be better off.

So, uh, my "it rains when the Others are afoot" theory just got shot to hell if it was Charlie that grabbed Sun.

I disagree. It only shoots your theory if it was "it only rains". This can just be a coincidence.

Red Herring

deadlax 02-08-06 11:17 PM

I thought Charlie followed Locke. I didn't think he was the one taking Sun, but I guess his black hoodie doesr look like what the abductor was wearing.

majorjoe23 02-08-06 11:31 PM

My DVD cut out as Hurley and Sayid were listening to the radio. Can anyone sum up the end.

I padded, but there was a basketball game that ran long.

That would make sense. That little hobbit wouldn't be able to grab Sun and take her like that, would he?

Yeah, I noticed that too. A clue or just a red herring? It would be a hell of an ending for the series to have everyone dying on the beach and the whole thing have been a mass hallucination just prior to death; all of them searching for a reason to live.

Reveals that Charlie "kidnapped" Sun, and agreed to help Sawyer because he wanted to see Locke humiliated. When asked why he did it, Sawyer responds with "I'm not a good person" or something along those lines.

He said he did, so I suppose so.

Great epospde tonight. Very eagerly awaiting next week.

Fok 02-09-06 12:34 AM

atleast the question of who kidnapped Sun was answered instead of being dragged out over 2 seasons.
