Yeah, that kind of killed the movie for me. I mean, if you're on a suicide mission, why bother with a seatbelt? That would be like putting landing gear on the kamikazi planes during WWII.

Because they were apparently really shitty at flying the planes and were doing all kinds of wild dives and turns which were flinging the people who weren't seatbelted all over the place.
