Damn rug-pissers. That carpet really tied the room together.

I heard they are having this season's finale in March so Carrell can go film a movie. Is it really the movie or is the show being yanked for good?

scoot95 01-26-06 10:42 AM

Carrell is taping Bruce Almighty 2. They are ending in March.

It has been picked up for 22 episodes next year.

The Office renewed for 2006-2007

Why would the show be "yanked for good"?

It's one of the most popular shows on TV, isn't it?

DRG 01-26-06 10:50 AM

Of course, the season finale is March 31, so it's thankfully not quite as early as it seems.

I love reading the plot synopses for this show. They make me giggle at the ideas without really spoiling anything.

Is the January issue of the Dunder Mifflin newsletter out to e-mail subscribers yet? The web site is still showing the December one.

Well, if they wanted to emulate the British series, they'd quit after 2 seasons.:)

It amazes me what some people watch. On the one hand, to each his own. On the other hand, most people are idiots.

JPRaup 01-26-06 03:40 PM

looking forward to tonight, I love the Office

Most people are watching CSI at that time and probably DVRing this one, like me.

Tonight's episode was very "light" on the laughs. I can't recall any LOL moments, unlike last week's episode which was funnier. Still a good episode though. The great thing about this show is that it doesn't have to be very funny every week to be redeeming. There were other things in tonight's episode that still made it worthwhile. I especially liked the ending with Pam's messages. The funniest line for me was prolly Michael's "hate" crime experience because he hated it.

Also, I couldn't decide whether Kelly was funny or irritating in this episode. A little of both I guess.

B.A. 01-26-06 09:03 PM

I'm such a dork - does anyone else just start smiling w/ anticipation when the theme song starts to play? I love it.

:D

And the end of that ep kicked ass.

The intern laughing his ass off when he was talking about Michael's office was great.

Sekots 01-26-06 09:04 PM

That ending just shows why it is one of my favorite shows on TV.

They definitely seemed to take her out of character this episode. I don't recall her being the chatty Cathy / office gossip before. I love Jim's reaction, not just to Kelly tonight but in general. He gets that blank, staring straight ahead, "I wish I was anywhere but here" look that I'm sure we've all had at work from time to time. Just nails it.

Michael staring at Ryan at the beginning got me laughing for some reason. And the unexpected return of Todd Packer was cool, even if his character is super annoying. Even Dwight had the disgusted look on his face when he heard Michael tell everyone that Packer left the, uh, "package".

The ending was great, as usual.

movieking 01-26-06 09:07 PM

Did anyone not know that it was Packer?

Yeah, I figured that out pretty early in the episode (...of course, I remembered the U.K. episode with Finchy's dirty e-mail picture of David and this episode was in a similar mode.)

Doughboy 01-26-06 10:20 PM

An ok episode, but the opening was brilliant. I laughed throughout the entire opening credits.

I thought Kelly was pretty funny. It was interesting how she was the exact opposite of her character in The 40 Year-Old Virgin(she was Paul Rudd's ex).

MrX 01-26-06 10:30 PM

The look Angela gave Dwight when Michael and him rushed accounting was great:lol:

DRG 01-26-06 11:34 PM

I thought the pre-credit bit with Michael staring creepily at Ryan was hilarious. Also, Ryan about to start talking about Kelly's "junk in the trunk" and suddenly remembering the cameras was good. :)

I know what you mean. I always feel like I'm opening a present when I turn on the tv and lie back for a half hour of this show.

Andalusia 01-27-06 12:20 AM

What was Michael's line about dunking that guy's head in the toilet, the guy complains, and Michael says something like "No wonder we didn't hire him."

I know I butchered it, but god that was funny!

Groucho 01-27-06 12:21 AM

The look on Michael's face when the old boss told him to keep friends and family seperate from workers said a lot.

Ravenous 01-27-06 01:29 AM

Ok, I was working out when I saw the ep and I dunno if I missed it but what was the package? Did they deliberatley leave it up to your imagination or was it said?

And the ending was OK, that dude (Jim?) is too in love with that chick and is just slowly killing himself. Itll be interesting to see where it goes though!
