Patman 01-27-06 01:35 AM

I figure the "package" was a big turd.

Tom Banjo 01-27-06 01:36 AM

I was really expecting one of the messages to be from the lady he asked out, which he would then ignore because of all of Pam's messages.

I thought about that too, but he also completely butchered the call (almost Swingers-level uncomfortableness), so I figured she probably would have not ever called him back.

I also liked the almost throwaway scene where Jim sees Kelly talking to someone and decides to drink his coffee in the bathroom.

Kal-El 01-27-06 03:03 AM

That ending was awesome.

I got the impression he wasn't really calling everyone. He was trying to get Kelly to spreda the news back to Pam to try and make her jealous because of how close she'd been with her fiance throughout the ep.

Another great ep, the intern is my favorite character on this version.

Chew 01-27-06 06:21 AM

Yup, another great ep.

There was more to it than that. He had a choice between being with Kelly or being with Pam and Ray...that's when he opted for the bathroom.

Speaking of Kelly, for some reason her line "You just asked a girl out...on the phone!" cracked me up.

movieking 01-27-06 07:51 AM

We definitely got to see a different side of Kelly in this episode. She seems like she is still in high school, with the asking Jim to find out if Ryan liked her, the line Groucho references above, etc. It's nice to see some of the supporting characters getting fleshed out.

I think that Jim did ask the chick out on the phone. At that time, he was pretty depressed about how he wasn't talking to Pam all day, and how he saw how happy she seemed with Roy in a couple of scenes. Of course, the whole ending with him checking his voice mails was great. It was a bit surprising to me that she called him from her cell on the way home, since it seems like they have a relationship that is confined in the workplace. I don't see them talking on weekends or at night. But since she called him at work, I guess it was still within that confines.

A decent episode...not very many laughs, but it still had great moments. The Pam and Jim storyline is killing me...she needs to dump Roy ASAP. "One time, as a joke, Packer nailed every chick in the office...it was hilarious".

They didn't mention it, but it was clearly obvious that someone shit on his floor.

Michael Corvin 01-27-06 08:31 AM

I laughed out loud a few times. Especially when the temp was laughing at the camera talking about the "package" in Michael's office.

Not just the temp...everyone they interviewed about it had a hard time keeping a straight face.

Ken Howard has had more screen time in this guest spot than he's had the last two seasons on Crossing Jordan.

Good to see that he's still alive.

Regarding next weeks episode:

Spoiler:
Jan's back and the women take over.

"If they stay in there together too long they'll all get on the same cycle and reek havoc on the bathroom plumbing." - Dwigt

Schloob1 01-27-06 09:06 AM

I cannot recall the exact qoute, but when Jim asked Kelly what kind of relationship and she was going on about long term, etc. I laughed out loud when she said "I'm not a slut, but I could be." something like that.

B.A. 01-27-06 09:52 AM

When Jim first went into Kelly's work area and sat down at the empty desk - he asked her what happened to the person sitting next to her and she replied that "he had an allergy."

Geofferson 01-27-06 09:55 AM

...to the desk.

I thought I heard her say that it was Toby's old desk.

And now his office is on the other side of the office on the other side of the breakroom area.

He really got far away from her didn't he.

And when Angela glared at Dwigt and he paused then took the pencil out her can and dropped it on her desk then ran away.

He's whipped.

Bingo. This, to me, was maybe the best non-funny line of the entire season. Completely summed up Michael in a nutshell--he doesn't seem to have friends or family. His workers are all he has, so he tries to make them his friends and family. Great line that came from an "outside" character.

It's Dwight, people. D-W-I-G-H-T! Dwight! With an H!

Call me a nerd, but for a small company they have a pretty nice VOIP system.

I'm glad somebody else notices that. I was beginning to wonder where the other spelling came from.

I just figured people were spelling it like that because of the episode where Michael spells it "Dwigt" in his screenplay.

If not, a lot of people in this thread need to be pointed and laughed at.

Why don't we just make it easier for everyone and refer to him as Samuel L. Chang?:)

Jan might not have been on The Office last night but she did show up on Without a Trace.
