Spoiler:
As President Roslin nears death, Dr. Gaius Baltar must be groomed for the worst case scenario.

Sounds like a good one! :)

AGuyNamedMike 01-20-06 07:12 AM

My wife and I are ready for our weekly hit off the Galacticrackpipe.

MBoyd 01-20-06 10:36 AM

It is like crack. Damn, and only 8 episodes left. Only a mere 2 months. WTF am I going to do with my life until the summer when Season 3 starts! I WON'T MAKE IT!

ok . . . cooling off now . . .back to work . . .

Dr. DVD 01-20-06 04:04 PM

Why can't I have imaginary hallucinations like Baltar's? :(

Maybe a DVD? A book? Masterbation?

necros 01-20-06 10:54 PM

decent episode, but I dunno if I liked the whole cure thing. Next week looks a lot more promising though, and Tom Zarek will be back :)

Manco 01-20-06 11:10 PM

Why hasn't Adama been asking about that nuke? Baltar was given that nuke to make a Cylon detector.

"No Cylon detector, so where's my nuke?"

The way things are going on the Galactica I'm surprised Sharon doesn't have the run of the ship.

aktick 01-21-06 12:13 AM

Not too crazy about this episode, seemed quite predictable throughout. I was hoping the Six visions would go away for good...guess not. And I also wasn't fond of how they handled the "abortion" issue.

mikehunt 01-21-06 12:22 AM

hot damn 6 looks so much better with non super bleached out hair and a bit more regular girl vs super model look

I was left with the impression that they would after the escape last week.

This ep wasn't great as a standalone, but I think the potential storylines this episode started could be great. The president is now
Spoiler:
part Cylon

Tazwolff 01-21-06 03:44 AM

So, the past el pres was Lord Marshal/Caesar! :jawdrop:

They're all doomed...

Yeah . . . I do have those Grace Park Maxim photos just for times like these.

I had no problems with this epsiode. I honestly thought it was going to be some kind of preachy over the top abortion/stem cell parallel, but happily it was not. I should have more faith in the writers by this time.

Like the back history of Laura and the president. Wouldn't Tom Zarek love that bit of information about her being asked to resign before she set off to Galactica?

Did anyone spot the Pegasus or any of their newer Vipers? I was a little surprised Starbuck wasn't flying one.

Derrich 01-21-06 08:19 AM

Isn't Starbuck still the Pegasus CAG? She should be flying a Mk2.

dhmac 01-21-06 08:40 AM

Baltar did good by figuring out the cure for Laura's cancer. But I didn't understand why he got so angry over her letter to him. It had some criticism of him, but overall seemed rather hopeful and positive about him.

(Of course, his behavior afterwards matched the letter's criticism part precisely, so maybe it was just too close to the truth.)

Right, so shouldn't she be in the new one? not the MK2?

FinkPish 01-21-06 01:14 PM

I thought this was a really solid episode. The introduction of the rebels is another great idea and now that they have a nuke, it really makes things interesting. I'm really looking forward to next week and
Spoiler:
Bill Duke!

Cartload 01-21-06 01:29 PM

They must have contracted out the security on these Battlestars to the same people the ships in the various Star Treks did. First Cain gets whacked in her quarters, and then a nuke is smuggled off, no questions asked. I guess next week someone will storm CIC, karate chop Mr. Gaeta and lock out the crew from their own computer system.

Tricia Helfer was looking mighty fine this week with her hair pulled back in the ponytail and the glasses.

Bill Duke next week should be great. First of all his name is awesome, maybe the best name ever, and I've been a fan of his since Predator.

Dick Armey is the best name ever.

Because he's a selfish brat, like the letter alluded to.

I wasn't so hot on this episode... the cure for Roslin's cancer just seemed too easy. I knew they would never kill her off, but as much as I like having Mary McDonnell on the cast, it would have been better for her character to die. It would have felt more real.

I also think giving the nuke to the rebels was a stupid move, even for Baltar. This is going to end up forcing his hand into becoming the bad guy the original series made him, I think.

Yeeeah, I'm going to have to disagree with you on that.

vinhj 01-21-06 04:15 PM

I like what they ended up doing with Gaius. Before this, he seemed kind of nutty and directionless. I can see how his self-centered view of everything convinced him that everything he's done since the assault on the homeworlds has been for the good of mankind -- he probably even gave himself a big pat on the back after mouthing off to Six about "not being the fall of mankind."

He's just a big kid and after his feathers got ruffled from the letter, giving the movement a nuke is the knee-jerk thing I'd expect him to do.

Okay, opening scene with the chick and Starbuck flying. The chick asks where Starbuck is, and she shows up to her side. The chick says, "About fucking time." Not "about fracking time" but definately "about fucking time." I replayed it several times. Am I the only one that caught this or did I mishear this several times in a row?

I had to rewind it when I first hear it, but yeah, the second pass through, it's definitely "fracking". It's just not as over-anunciated as usual.
