I liked it a lot, especially the camaraderie between the guys. Maybe a little too musically hip though. And Ed has already picked up on his new Carol Vessey.
"Well, that's seven words you never want to hear."
(silently counting) "Who are you, Rainman?"

"Tom" stole Ed's black bag.
I liked it enough to want to keep watching. For a pilot, I thought it showed a lot of potential...though I have to agree the whole speech to Tom's boss seemed more like a mission statement. I can't believe no one could come up with something a bit more original.

Did Judy Greer get her front teeth capped? The gap between her front teeth doesn't look as wide as it's been previously. I also disappointed that she didn't try to flash Tom.

I found the pilot to be entertaining. I figured it couldn't be too bad as I am a huge music and Ed fan. The only thing that got to me was this...here's this show about a guy who loves music for music and not for the money...there's references to the greats (the Sex Pistols, Dylan, Zeppelin, etc) and snippets or plugs of some great new artists (Franz Ferdinand, Interpol poster). So, WTF was "Pretty Vegas" by the "new" INXS doing playing in the background when Tom's crew was offering their support?? Oh yeah, that's right...Rock Star: INXS was a CBS show.

Not too bad, but I'm not sure if I'll bother to watch going forward.
Whenever they were discussing "music" stuff, it was really well-written and snappy. When they did "normal" stuff or "relationship" stuff, the dialog was really, really awkward. Still, I expected to only watch this for a few minutes to "sample" it, and I stayed for the whole episode. Can't be all bad.
I'll give it a 'meh' for now, leaning towards a 'could be decent'.

I wanted to check this show out, but the bad timeslot caused me to only flip over when Boston Legal would go to commercial. It really bothered me that he gave a Bob Dylan "Best Of" as a shower gift. No real music person would give a Best Of. Made me think it's a crap show.

Actually, after giving the CD there was a funny/interesting comment about "The Essential Bob Dylan" versus the Greatest Hits album. Where he picked "The Essential" because it had some of the best songs where the Greatest Hits would have just that -- the hits.
Besides, the gift was for an unborn child.

Pretty decent start. I like the music industry angle plus Ivana Milicevic and Judy Greer adds some incentive. Hopefully this one will hang around for long enough to get started.

Ivana Milecivic was not the hooker who scammed Lou in Rescue Me. I don't know who it was, but the only other thing I ever remember seeing Ivana in was the short lived series Mind of the Married Man on HBO.

It was decent enough for me to give it another shot.
I love Tom Cavanaugh and Judy Greer, so that helps. My biggest problem was that it seems to have all the conventional pitfalls of television: the obligatory black character, the newly inducted obligatory gay character, the characters who are secretly in love with each other but neither is willing to admit it.
But, that having been said - next week I'm there.

It was good enough that I'll give it another shot.

Did anyone else notice that Jason Priestley seemed to be looking up in the air the entire episdoe? He's so short compared to the others, it was just goofy. Other than him, I loved it. The mental sidebars were great. Ed's back, and I'm gonna check this one out some more.
