Question about Titus
Last night I saw the stand-up comedy act of Christopher Titus for the first time, and I laughed my ass off. Was his TV show anything like his stand-up?

I havent seen his stand up but if it was about his way disfunctional family then yeah. It's a very good show, worth a rent from Netflix atleast.

I'm a huge fan of the show, and after seeing his standup special on Comedy Central this week, I can say a lot of stuff from his standup act appear in the show verbatim. The show even features his monologues where he talks directly to the camera. Of course, the show has a lot of stuff not in the special, although a lot of it is based on real events. So the show's like an extended version of his act, with sets and other actors. Basically, if you liked the special, you'll like the show.

I just watched the special last night and was going to post about the show in here too. His show was quite funny (IMHO). The special was very similar to his show and will give you a good idea of what it was like. I don't understand why his show never made it, I loved it.
The most amazing thing to me (as a clinical psychologist) is how he was able to transform his past traumas into such comedy gold. Humor truly is an amazing coping mechanism. You can really tell that his performances are therapeutic for him too.

Thanks everyone, I'll check the show out. Someone traded it in to my store a few days ago, but I never gave it any thought until I saw the stand-up special the other night.

I guess I just don't get the whole dysfunctional family humor, because I didn't think Titus was very funny at all. It seemed more sick and disturbing than funny to me. Anthony Hopkins and Jessica Lange were pretty good in it, though.

I will agree that watching the episodes now the show just seems to wear thin. There's only so many times you can listen to someone go on and on about how they didn't have a great childhood.

Blasphemer!!! Fox only has the success of it’s shows in mind and would never do anything to impact a show negatively or neutrally.
