Desperate Housewives - "One More Kiss" - 1/08

I think most viewers hate Andrew, so whatever he does, no one cares to comment, besides what new level of low he can achieve when it comes to trying to manipulate his mom for more "freedom".

Best episode of the season, mainly because it relied mainly on interplay between the main characters and not on their outside adventures with jails/nuns, their workplaces, their long lost fathers, psychos/cops, etc. Even the Applewhite story didn't bug me, because we're finally seeing it filtered through the main five.

I didn't think this was a very good episode, overall. Something about it just didn't click for the whole episode - it felt really half-baked.
And what a waste of Michael Ironside! For such a recognizable quality actor, they sure Boba Fetted him out of the show in no time!!

(Or at least that's the way I interpreted it.)

Progress.
For once I sided with Andrew. What Bree was saying was pretty horrible.
A pretty good episode all and all but still nowhere as fun as last year.
Is Carlos getting fat?

And who was that guy who conveniently fell through the steps and shot himself in the chest? A private investigator? Mrs. Applewhite said he wasn't the police.

He also didn't want anyone to know about his little experiments (remember when Susan caught him). But now, and really without explanation, he only is pursuing guys and doesn't care if the whole neighborhood knows his business. I guess one can rationalize it is as a reaction to his father's death, but I think it would still have been nice if we were privy to that thought process somehow.
It was nice to see him get bullied around a little bit for the way he had been acting toward Bree. But did anyone else half expect him to kiss Susan's ex when their faces were so close? Part of me thought that Andrew was probably enjoying it. And maybe this is the beginning of a Bree crush; she certainly looked satisfied with his actions against Andrew.
And as far as Tom and Lynette, I don't think we've ever received a clear answer to what Tom had done that he thinks Lynette would leave him about. I don't think it is the fact that he was working with his ex. That bugged Lynette, but it wasn't something she would leave him about. That along with Mama Solis are a couple of storylines that were just deserted. I'm pretty shocked that nothing has happened to Andrew because of the hit-and-run.

It would be nice to have a Bree/Edie/Karl triangle, I like Karl’s character.

I thought this was a great episode. Really had some good character moments. Lynette was getting on my nerves with the whole jealousy thing, but some good moments came out of it. Loved Karl talking to Andrew, although I do feel for Andrew at times. Being told you're going to hell and being shipped off to camp for being gay? That's the part of Bree I don't like. But there's part of all the characters that I don't like. I think that's supposed to be the point. No one's the good neighbor or the bad neighbor. They all have their moments to shine or fall. The Applewhite's story is getting more interesting, although I'm surprised that they got rid of Ironside so quickly. And Susan didn't annoy me this week. So from me.

I think Andrew's previous "I'm not really that gay" was him trying desperately to still please his mother. Now he does not give a shit what his mother thinks and he is flaunting his sexuality in order to piss her off even more.
And it's probably a bad idea to send your possibly homosexual son to an all-boys military school.
