Jerry getting three 9s and Stacy getting two 9s and an 8 is BS!

The judges had the correct criticism of Stacy's freestyle dance (pretty lame) but their scoring sure didn't indicate it.
Maybe so, but it deserved a higher score than Jerry's stiff as hell dance. Drew didn't deserve perfect scores on his free dance either.

Stacy is the best dancer on the show, and it's not even debateable as far as I'm concerned. But she probably won't win.

big whoppa 02-23-06 08:57 PM

2 hours of America's Funniest Videos in place of a regular Friday night showing of DWTS? Seems like they could have easily fit in another show tomorrow before the finale Sunday.

I thought Jerry's disco was better than Stacy's. It was far more challenging with the lifts he had to do. However, Jerry's first dance was a 6 or 7 IMO, so overall Stacy would be ahead of him in my book.

Probably? There is no way that she wins. She won't win judges now and there is no way that she wins the fan vote.

Terrell 02-23-06 09:03 PM

I thought Jerry's disco was better than Stacy's.
I didn't think so. I thought he was incredibly stiff. One thing Stacy never is, is stiff. Then again, he's been incredibly stiff the whole show. None of the free dances deserved the scores they got in my opinion. All three free dances were lackluster compared to their required dance.

But who can tell what the judges want. Half the time I don't even understand their rationale. But I'm no dancing expert. I predict Drew will win it, and it wouldn't surprise me if Jerry won it.

Which proves my point. It's a popularity contest, because it's clear that she is the best dancer. For Jerry Rice to beat Stacy Keibler borders on the stupid.

Mok 02-23-06 09:06 PM

I really felt bad for Stacy she looked so sad standing when the judges reamed her out, but I do agree her freestyle dance was a bomb. On the other hand I don't think Jerry did any better with his stiff Afro dance. This title is Drew & Cheryls to win or lose.

Patman 02-23-06 09:08 PM

I think Stacy might have been too tall for Tony to be doing the lifts. Anna is much easier to throw around for Jerry, and Drew's lifts of Cheryl weren't always clean because he's also not a tall guy (w/r/t Cheryl's height). I think if you keep the lifts restriction, Stacy fares a little better.

So Stacy and Tony probably got out-choreographed tonight by Drew and Cheryl tonight in the free style, and that may be all the difference needed to win Drew and Cheryl the crown for this season.

But I think Drew might have lost the Brokeback vote...

Terrell 02-23-06 09:11 PM

I think Drew was better in the free dance, though it wasn't deserving of 10. But Stacy was better in the required dance. Jerry doesn't even bear mentioning.

That was a definite :jawdrop: moment. And I'm sure 98 Degrees has a Brokeback following. ;)

:fro: :fro: <-- Jerry and Anna

Jerry & Anna: I thought that their Foxtrot was much improved from the first time they did it. Jerry wasn't as stiff and Anna looked great. The freestyle was great to me and just what they needed to do. I loved it and it was a highlight because it was fun.

Drew & Cheryl: They have never really struck me in any kind of way, but I thought they were really on point in both of their routines tonight. I didn't think they had a chance to win, but they picked a good night to really step up. I don't know much about technical dance, but my eyes tell me they nailed it.

Stacy & Tony: I liked the Jive, although it was better the first time so there was a sense of "Wasn't this better before?" The freestyle I thought was very bad. It may cost them this thing, but I guess we will see. I felt kind of bad for Stacy, as they picked a bad time to be subpar to their earlier efforts.

It's going to be a long wait to Sunday.

Patman 02-23-06 09:18 PM

Ah yes, loved the fro's on Jerry and Anna, that was just plain fun.

big whoppa 02-23-06 09:24 PM

I love Bruno's comments. Peanut. Pinup. Olivia Newtron-Bomb etc.

magiccmom 02-23-06 09:45 PM

Cheryl is an unbelievable choreographer!!! That freestyle number was hot!!!! That to me was what I was expecting and they didnt disappoint. I hope they take it.

Stacie & Tony? YAWN...the beginning of the disco number was really so ordinary. No sizzle, no imagination. They have been very good all season, but when it was time to step it up, they disappointed.

Anna & Jerry were fun. Couldnt get past the wigs though. Thought they were kinda distracting.

All in all, it was a great season. Those professionals are so talented, and made me love ballroom! I was under the impression it was so stuffy instead it turns out to me some of the best choreography I have ever seen, and the most beautiful costumes on some of the most beautiful bodies. I am hooked! Hope a lot of celebrities step up for next season!!

big whoppa 02-23-06 09:52 PM

Cheryl riding Drew was pretty damn hot!

Patman 02-23-06 09:56 PM

Yeah, and then they cut to Drew's pregnant wife. :D

Terrell 02-23-06 09:58 PM

I'd like to see Stacy take it. She's easily been the best, most consistent dancer throughout this show. In fact, she's been the best period, including season one. One subpar routine shouldn't cause her to lose, especially to a less talented dancer in Drew. It'll be sad if the best dancer doesn't win. Not that this is a legitimate dancing contest. If it was, there would be no fan votes. In fact, they should drop the fan votes. The funny thing is, I never thought she'd win anyway, because I thought Carrie Ann would do her best to keep her from winning.

But you can't get too wrapped in these shows, because the best often times doesn't win. But it's fun to watch and sometimes you get caught up in it.

Patman 02-23-06 10:00 PM

This will be like wrestling, more money/ratings for the inevitable re-match.

If she wasn't pregnant, I'd wonder how long that marriage would last. He and Cheryl must get pretty hot with their practicing and spending hours together.

magiccmom 02-23-06 10:06 PM

You cant always go by the best dancer. If you were going to do that then it would be unfair to pit Stacie who has dance lessons in the past against someone who never danced at all. She has technique from that time that you dont lose. She is a great dancer, but I think Drew has outperformed her and his numbers were so much fun to watch. Thats why it is opened up to the fans...We all take enjoyment out of different things.

No shit. Cheryl's body is definitely on point.

Not on this show he hasn't outperformed her at all. In the free dance tonight, he performed better. But she has easily been the best dancer throughout this entire season. Drew is probably the second best dancer on the show. But for most of the weeks throughout this season, Stacy has clearly been the best, both technically and from a pure talent standpoint. Even the judges clearly admit that she is on another level, expecting a lot more from her.

The question is should you pick a champion based on one dance number?

Drew hasn't danced at all? He has danced quite a bit in his career. Part of his career in a boy band was predicated on being able to dance, as well as sing.

The only thing that hurt Stacy in the free dance was weak choreography.

Terrell 02-23-06 10:37 PM

By the way, was it my imagination or did I hear Tony reply to Carrie Ann "we'd expect nothing less from you" or something to that effect.

He is 1000% banging her...no doubt in my mind

As a straight woman, I'm not a member of the Brokeback vote, but his reaction was childish and in keeping with how I've seen him all season. Maybe if he got a little Brokeback action, he'd be able to move his hips. It's depressing to watch a show and to have your two least favorite teams--Drew and Cheryl and Jerry and Anna--make it to the finals.

Yes, Stacy's dance routine was onderwhelming, but why is it the judges have never called Drew and Cheryl on their mistakes? Their lifts were awful. The Thriller routine was dull the first time, and dull the second time. All this Drew love reminds me of last year with the overrated Hurley.
