Is this the first time that we found out what Michael's wife died of? I can't remember it ever being mentioned before. I would love to see what she was like in a flashback.

Probably ovarian cancer since that was the disease he submitted.

I believe it was the first time we have found out what disease killed Michael's wife... loved the look George Sr. gave when he read the submission.

Actually I think it was the head...

So is the cancelation still up in the air, or are they just trying to reel in as many viewers for the last few episodes so they get a nice return on DVD sales???

I ask because there was a TON of advertising for AD on Sun. night during The Simpsons/War At Home/Family Guy/American Dad slot... Quite a few commercials & a bunch of those annoying interuption banners that swoop across the bottom of the screen during the shows...

Just curious... I thought it was another solid episode. A number of big laughs, a good amount of smaller ones, and I love the references to past episodes...

Unfortunately anyone who is particularly INTO that show is unlikely to "get" Arrested.

That still baffles me. Like someone else mentioned, it didn't work for two years after the Simpsons so they proceed to advertise it then instead of elsewhere? Makes sense to me.

I recently was able to run a 'lab' experiment with "AD".

My friend was over writing a paper on my computer and she was done about the time AD came on, so she watched it with me, having NEVER seen a single second of it.

Her thoughts at the end were this: She knew what she was watching was supposed to be funny, but she didn't get most of it. The bits in this episode only were funny, George Sr making paper mache heads to possibly fake his way out, the turtle eating the weed, the fund raiser for Tobias' hair rejection (and the riot in which someone yelled "I'd rather give to TBA!")

But the bulk of it she was just lost in. I had to pause the show and explain why they "live in a house all by itself in the desert." The only laugh she had? When the mom said "Im glad I didn't cry, I couldnt spare the moisture."

I can see why picking up viewers is harder than the average show. I picked it up in the second season, but it took 'work'. Only if the viewer is willing to invest a 'little' time to it can you add viewers to AD.

I wonder if Showtime DOES pick it up if they will have access to the first seasons to play in a 2 week blowout so the viewers CAN learn all about it.

good points, cfg. I would assume that if Showtime or ABC pick it up, they'd have the rights to broadcast the first two seasons. When VH1 picked up Surreal Life from WB, they were able to rebroadcast the first two seasons... I'd assume it's the same situation.

I really liked this episode- but missed the jet pack at the end. What happened?
I loved Tobias in this one... I had to replay the "Don't make the water too hot or my scabs will fall off" scene a few times- I was laughing too hard!!

Has anyone found the podcast from Oscar? (again-I'm assuming there's one!!) lol

A prisoner used it to escape.

This was the first episode I have ever seen and enjoyed it. I recently bought S1 and S2 from Amazon and am about to start watching those.

The Tbag line and the Vaga-Vegetable lines had me laughing my ass off. Also, the thought of having kids do that prison play is hilarious.

That reminds me of when michael pulled up in the stair car, "you can't park here" and he backs away from the wall just as the prisoner tries to jump the wall and lands on his face.

They have definitely gotten plenty of mileage out of that car.

surprised no one mentioned the rest of the joke:

Don't leave your Uncle T-Bag hangin'.

anyone notice a big continuity flub at the beginning?? michael drops the guitar and knocks the music stand and sheet music to the floor, and when they go back to him, the stand/music are in tact..

great episode - VERY fast-moving. definitely wanted to watch it again as soon as it was over.

What did GOB tell GM to do when he was filming, right after the T-Bag line? It was along the lines of GM put your head down by his (could not make out the rest).

This is heartbreaking. Got to get this for the video. Hey, George Michael, you want to put your head down there by his drainage shunt.

Thanks, I rewinded this about 10 times and still could not make it out.

Didn't Gob get tasered at the end? I thought this board would eat that up, and it hasn't even been mentioned.
