Best part of the show:

Michael Scott: It was a tough year. I had to fire somebody this year. Yeesh. This party has to really rock. Check it out... Christmas bonus… three G’s. I got this for helping save the company money. So I guess some good came out of firing Devon after all. Maybe I should call him and tell him that.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but do you guys get the feeling that Jim might have a thing for Dawn?

If he does, it hasn't jumped out at me. I sure hope the writers start planting seeds for that now because I don't want to be blindsided with it at a finale or anything.

Now that would be a freaky crossover, probably make Pam very jealous too.

UK version of Pam.

We do the same kind of gift exchange at my office. It usually goes okay but occasionally gets pretty ruthless and vindictive. I'd prefer a regular secret santa exhange.

I thought they already worked the make Pam jealous angle with the sales rep that he took home after work that Michael was working on. She also appeared at another Dunder Mifflin function.

If it makes you feel any better they actually didn't rerun it at 2:05 (I DVR'd that since I tried to watch the Office at 11 or so and got Reefer Madness 2005 instead). I hear it's available through... other methods, however. In completely unrelated news, I've since seen the episode and it's as funny as everyone says.

Baltimore affiliates really suck. They also block out Survivor subtitles with redundant weather advisories. Fools.

not for hd broadcasts (and be lucky that we didn't have a snow storn during on of the "sun/jin storylines on lost since abc has a habbit of running weather warnings where the subtitles would be.)

It wasn't really a Dunder-Mifflin function so much as a game of "Desert Island" in the middle of a fire drill. And as Jim told Ryan in the previous ep, he hasn't talked to her lately.

I don't watch reality shows in HD since they barely look better and I DVR everything and don't want to waste the drive space. But you're right, Lost with covered subs would be a disaster. Oh hell, Lost looks great in HD!

You know what, you've hit on something. I bet the 2:05am rerun of the Office was on in standard def and not HD. Idiots.

do you have comcast? because with me at least, standard looks like shit (and most programs to me look better frame wise in hd as well.) And wbal actually stretches 4x3 programing to make it in widescreen, so if they did air it, it would have black bars on top and bottom and look stretched.

I do have Comcast but I have a 4:3 HDTV that has the ability to squeeze on its own. Standard doesn't look great but for Survivor and shows like that it's good enough.

You must be VERY new to the show. The answer is yes.

Ok I thought of something this morning. What if Pam opened up the letter by using steam from her new tea pot. She could then reseal it and make it look as if she had not opened the letter.

Assuming you are serious, this isn't possible because all of Jim's "extra gifts" were still inside the teapot when he took the letter, and the tape keeping the teapot lid on was still present as well.

Well my point is that this show constantly hits you over the head with the fact that Jim has a boyish crush on Pam, which may or may not be requitted. Pam struggles with her feelings and can't decide if her relationship for Jim with Jim is too much. They do this like EVERY SINGLE episode. If they were subtle about it or just gave some small hints here and there, that wouldn't be so bad, but it's very overt and undeniable. We get the point already. Whatever happened to that one other chick he was seeing anyways? Also, he should get a haircut or buy a comb and some hair product. He could use a few trips to the gym (weight room) too. So can Pam....but please don't lose that butt.

They did this for around 2 seasons on the UK office as well, I'd would imagine that some resolution or forwarding of this plot will come around the same time here. I think you are completely missing the point on Jim; he's supposed to be a normal guy. Same for Pam.

I didn't like this episode that much. Reminded me too much of the first season before they began toning down some of the characters.
