While I agree with how you question this(I felt the same way), my guess is the old classic bunch up occurs and they are all on the same time at one point next week. Hence, no advantage gained and the mom is just being her arrogant self.

So explain to me what the point in having the yield in this leg was?? If it is a non-elimination leg, all it did was basically slow the Floridas down for 30 min or so. But they still are allowed to catch up at the pit stop, along with everyone else....so why bother with a yield? This show just continues to disappoint me this season...very weak.

Because Phil is not Jeff Probst, and understands that he is a gameshow host. Jeff would find a way to get them eliminated, which is shitty...to Phil, every team is equal THE RACE decides what happens next.

He also happens to be a really nice guy.

Obviously, they don't see themselves the way that most of us do and the way the other teams do. They were really down on themselves and 3 of them are pretty young.

I thought it was yet another cool thing from Phil that he took a moment to notice they were looking like they wanted to quit and gave them a pep talk to get them to give it their best.

I can understand the hatred of the Weavers but the other teams are piling on and they don't come off smelling like roses either. The other teams remind me of the High School jocks/cheerleader popular kids picking on the outcasts. Anyway, it is lame. Run your own goddamn race! I hope the Weavers win just to spite them all regardless of their cluelessness and lack of tack.

I think Amazing Race is the best reality show on television but I thought tonight's show was just horrible. Probably the worst episode I've seen. Telegraphing the non-elimination, a roadblock that wasn't even a roadblock (slide down the ramp into the water - only Rolly and maybe the Lintz really did a ski jump move) and the ganging up on against the Weavers - terrible. What is up with the production crew affecting the car battery of the Godlewski? I think only Phil's talk at the end salvaged this episode. Anyway, I hope the Weavers win.
