Is "Jump the Shark" a Funny Site?
Do any of you think "Jump the Shark" is a good TV site? I have mixed feelings about that website; some of the comments on that website are wise, funny and very insightful.
But on the other hand some of comments made on site could also be very mean, rather banal and quite narrow minded; some posters are so hysterical you don't know if they are watching the same TV show as you are, plus they unjustly scapegoat talented writers or actors for the downfall of a TV series.
So, do you think "Jump the Shark" is excellent website to measure the quality of a TV show, or is it a trashy website for clueless malcontents to mindlessly vent their anger about a TV series that is not going "their" way?

The comments are a little over the top at times, but you could say the same thing about this site and I still love coming here every day. I think most of the stuff on there is funny. I love the Ted McGinley section.

I haven't been there for a while, but some criticisms are spot on. Of course, there are always the crazies that claim a showed jumped the shark on "DAY ONE!!!!1!||!!!"

I'd like it better if it were more organized. If it had a nicely written short article for each show (a la Snopes or X-Entertainment), then had the page of votes and comments I think it would be better. Still, it's often entertaining.

I've been subscribed to the Yahoo list for over 4 years. And I have the book. But I haven't read any of the posts for over a year. I picked the 3rd option.

Here are some links to some of the more crazy threads on "Jump the Shark":
Ally McBeal: http://www.jumptheshark.com/a/allymcbeal.htm
Boston Public: http://www.jumptheshark.com/b/bostonpublic.htm
Alot of the posts in those two threads read like the petulant rantings of a spoilt toddler in the middle of a massive temper tantrum. Only a posts seem to make any real sense or are level headed in tone.
But the threads for two popular sci-fi shows such as Enterprise and Stargate SG-1 seem to be alot more level headed and restrained in their overall tone. Here are the links here:
Enterprise: http://www.jumptheshark.com/e/enterprise.htm
Stargate SG-1: http://www.jumptheshark.com/s/stargatesg1.htm
Did you notice there was alot less ranting and raving, plus many of the posters (for the most part) seem be alot more insightful and are less prone to be abusive? Is that anything to do with the totally different demograph groups that watch these four shows?

Bump.
I wonder why not many people post on this thread, is it because "Jump the Shark" is not that popular a website?
Also I've provided links directly to some of the more interesting threads.
