I watched this tonight. And I was quite surprised by it! I liked how Summer thought of one possible cross-coupling and came up somewhat right and wrong. I can't wait for next week!

Finally, this show is back on track.

So, Cohen and Taylor Townsend are gonna hook it up now. Could be a little interesting....

I don't think Taylor has a shot at Cohen. I do think that Summer however will start shit about it. :up:

I really liked the new girl from the ghetto school. Don't see why the writers had to turn her into a nobody by making her slut it out to mr beach asshole.

Glad to see Ryan back to punching people again. :up: But did anyone find it odd that they guys didn't get their asses handed to them? The two fellas Ryan was with I could have taken out and I'm just an ordinary joe.

Was I the only one who thought a "Welcome to the OC, Bitch" was coming?

Agreed. I was amazed those guys didn't pound Ryan's crew into the dirt.
Hopefully things pick up now.

I laughed my ass off when Ryan said he didn't win a fight in his life until he got to Newport.

Taylor= hot. heh.

They are always pushing Ryan back into troublesome, violent situations.

Parts. My DVR cut off right in the middle of it and Reunion only caught the last bit of it.

I heard that the ratings for The OC are down as low as 5 million viewers.

Taylor is becoming more of an interesting character with the intoduction of her mother. It would be nice to have another character join the group. We lost Luke, , Lindsey, Oliver, Anna, Zach, and Seths/Marissa GF (Forgot her name).

Let's see....no viewers = cancelled. Please see "Arrested Development".

It threw me a bit, since it had nothing to do with the episode, and usually Cancer Man doesn't have anything positive to say about this show.

This is not a show that will be canceled. Trust me. There are enough dedicated tweeners-college kids to keep it running as long as schwartz wants to run it/ruin it.

:lol: A repeat of any of the Oliver episodes would still get double the ratings of a brand new episode of Arrested Development. Were talking about two totally different shows, and two different audiences.

God, this thread is slow...

Only five million viewers, so no wonder there are not many comments about this show.

"ANGEL", the BEST series I have ever seen, had never really reached 5 million viewers- it usually peaked at 3 1/2 to 4...5 million was very rare if I recall correctly, and I think it's safe to say that fewer viewers has nothing to do with how fast a thread grows, because that show had continuous threads that were very long.

If the number of people who watched a show related to thread length the AD threads would not be so numerous and so many pages long.

I thought it was one of the better eps in a while.

The actress playing Casey leaked some spoilers on "Watching with Kristin." I suppose that Johnny, her boyfriend, will become a new buddy/love interest to Ryan and the revelation of his being bisexual is finally told as a shocking secret. And Ryan will go through the "sex-change" journey which Marissa suffered last year. The writers are really running out of ideas, so they even will bring back storylines of Katlin Cooper, who is replaced by a new actress.
The storylines of Charlotte and Julie are interesting, but not so intesnse like Julie's porn video scandal last season. I hope the writers will bring Carter Buckly back, so Kirsten will go mad again. Guys, we know this is "The O.C." The writers know best how to treat their characters with insanity.

That shows how fickle the suits at FOX are; if Angel could go on for four seasons with well under five million viewers and not get cancelled, then how come other shows on FOX get the axe for no reason?

Boston Public, for three seasons at least, had respectable viewing figures that were over the 10 million mark, but of course Boston Public was shifted to Friday evening and the ratings crashed. But it still held on to five million viewers, which was OK for a show shifted to a very bad time slot.

I am just curious why shows like The OC and Angel could continue on FOX with relatively low viewing figures that get shows like Boston Public or Fire Fly cancelled. Is it something to do with what rival shows The OC and Angel are up against, ratings wise, on their respective evenings?

With each passing week, I care less and less about this show. The characters just don't interest me anymore. However, I did perk up when Paula Trickey made a brief appearance as Taylor's MILF. :drool:

Who the hell knows how long ANGEL would have lasted on Fox...I for one, am glad to never know! Fox (studio) may have made the series, but I'm thankful the network never aired it.

Different networks have different definitions of 'success' - five million viewers could be a disaster for NBC, but an incredible smash hit for WB or UPN...
Fox is like that carnival game where you shoot pellets at wooden ducks for a prize...very itchy trigger fingers, and prize seems to be royally pissed off viewers.

As much as I love Firefly, Boston Public and The OC, compared to ANGEL, I wouldn't miss them in an instant.

Hell, at least Seth made his presence known again in this episode. He's been pretty ineffectual this whole season - so it's nice to finally see his character get a little play again.

Overall, though, this season's still lacking in just about everything that used to make this show enjoyable. Did they lose some of their writers, or what? When it wanted to, this show was pretty cleverly written - but I'm just not seeing/hearing it this year. As someone else, I believe, said it here before - it's like this season's just been phoned in. A very pale imitation of it's former self.

Next week (this week now) still gives me hope, though.

Sorry, my mistake. I am just wondering why a show such as The OC can have five million viewers and not get cancelled on a Monday evening, while Boston Public could still hold on to five million viewers on the very bad Friday time slot and get cancelled anyway. I wonder why the Fox suites are like that.

Talking about MILF, why has nobody mentioned the MILF overload when Kelly Rowan, Jeri Ryan and Melinda Clarke were all in the same room together? :drool: :hump:

But the "Charlotte conning money out of the dopey Kirsten" storyline still sort of sucks though...

The OC is on Thursday night, not Monday. And, as I recall, Boston Public aired mostly (when it was on) either on Monday or Tuesday -I don't remember it being on Friday - but if it did move there, that's FOX's prime death spot, so I'm sure it did help kill it.

Anyway, it's more about the overall demographic of the viewers who do watch the show - than the number. You could have less numbers viewer wise, but if those people spend more money (on the products being advertised) than it kind of evens out.

1st 3 season of BP aired on Monday. It moved to Friday for S4. Then it was canned.

Saw the previews for this week's episode last night during Prison Break.
Hopefully this week's episode doesn't disappoint.

Too bad Taylor didn't inherit her mother's looks.
