So what did the whispering say?

edstein 11-09-05 09:30 PM

What did Walt say to Shannon in the beginning of the show?

If you have a way of playing the audio backwards, you'll find out I'm guessing.

wow.

EXCELLENT episode. slow pacing naysayers be damned.

i'll wait for the eventual Walt audio reversal. [thanks whoever posts it..]

a LOT of shows take December off -- the November ratings are over and there are holiday special programming interruptions and lower audiences overall (holiday parties)

I know, crazy. I can't take credit though...anybody know how to do that? I think the other whispers aren't simply backwards, are they? Cause I'd really like to know what they were saying.

Jimmy James 11-09-05 09:57 PM

Anyone considering waiting on the rest of the season to play out on LOST should switch over to Veronica Mars. I promise it moves at a most satisfactory pace. :) With that said, I will not again reference the competition. I don't want this turning ugly.

I think I was supposed to feel sorry about what happened, but I don't. I don't think it was possible to move this character over to sympathetic with one little set of flashbacks given what we already knew.

I'm satisfied by the pace of the show. What I care about is movement, not necessarily the pace of that movement. I still firmly believe that there wasn't movement in the last episode of last season and will not be happy if they pull a stunt like that again. Until then, this makes for nice 10 PM ET viewing in my household on Wednesday nights.

but is shannon actually dead? could be that they meant the no-name tailie in the previews, and we're made to believe shannon will die. but can jack work a miracle on her and save her?

Duck.

She sealed her own fate (or maybe it was Syid). People on these types of shows should never confess their love for someone else. It is a guarantee that someone will die.

I was kind of hoping Sayid would go medieval on Ana Lucia's obnoxious authoritarian ass, but no - they had to cut to the closing credits. -ohbfrank-

Boy, Anna Lucia sure made a nice impression on Sayid. You could really feel the hatrid in his eyes. I can't wait to see what happens next week.

Tommy Ceez 11-09-05 10:09 PM

So it was Shanons dad killed by Jacks future wife?

That's what I was thinking. The previews last week said
Spoiler:
"One of these survivors will be lost forever."
(dunno if I'm supposed to spoiler previews from previous weeks, but better safe than sorry around these parts). So maybe Jack will pull a miracle if he's not busy down the hatch?

Yep. We actually were told that in the premiere (or whenever Jack had his flashback), in the background in the ER they said "Joe (or whatever his first name was) Rutherford," and his age. Plus we knew Shannon's dad had died, and obviously they wouldn't make a coincidence like that.

zuffy 11-09-05 10:21 PM

WOW. I hate M-Rod before and now hate her even more. I hope Sayid goes insane and beat the shit outa her.

cdoug57 11-09-05 10:34 PM

 Good episode. Almost makes up for not being around the last couple of weeks.

Wonder if Sayid now understands some of what Shannon felt towards Locke. Maybe he will take his gun to Ana-Lucia. :)

Wonder what did happen to the missing tailie.

Looking forward to next week, appears to be a strong flashback, much better than what we've seen so far this season.

Heat 11-09-05 10:39 PM

Wow, Sayid must be a little upset.

As for the flashbacks, it was nice to see Boone again.

And didn't Walt do his backward talking trick twice? Or were both times the same thing? (they're coming and they're close)

I'm looking forward to next week's episode.

MrX 11-09-05 10:41 PM

Pretty good episode

Trying to make Shannon a sympathetic character was a giveawway that she was the goner.

Loved the last shot of Sayid's face.

Josh H 11-09-05 10:46 PM

Wow!

Now that was a great episode. Best since the season premiere by a long shot.

They really don't need to answer things every week. Just keep the tension up and the show exciting. Even without the ending this was a great episode.

I actually would be watching Veronica Mars instead of Lost if those bastards at Time Warner carried UPN in HD. The ABC HD feed is really shaky at times, but at least Lost looks and sounds great(nice cinematography in tonight's episode).
