The guy played a character named Caleb. I wonder if the real reason for his firing will surface?

That was the guy in the basement.

This is a better mystery than anything that has been on the show this season!

Reading between the lines in the article, sounds like he was caught doing drugs on set.

He wanted a coke nostril like Susan.

It is going to be weird having another person cast into that role. It is always so awkward when that happens. I wonder if they will do like Seinfeld and The Sopranos and reshoot the scenes that he was in for syndication and DVD.

Let's hope not. He hardly had any screen time so far as it is, and when he did, it was a blurred image for the most part, except for that one shot of him on the stairs listening in them talk about him being slow. I say treat it like a Bewitched situation and move on! Of course, knowing this show, they will probably have him get in some accident that scars his face, requires plastic surgery, and then justifies why he looks different!

Here I was hoping it was Marc Cherry -- for pulling a "JJ Abrams" so soon after the show's debut.

Then I realized it said "actor".

Maybe they will cast a white actor this time to match his hand.

He was sooooo good the one time he was on.

Shame, the guy didn't even get an opportunity to show off his acting skills playing a mute.

Wow he was all over the news a couple weeks ago when they finally revealed who was in the basement.

November stunt, perhaps? Another sign that this show is strug-a-ling.

On the Howard Stern show they just said he was fired for exposing himself or sexual inappropriateness.

Really? To who I wonder. A "star" or just random crew.

I honestly don't even remember what the guy looks like. I don't think recasting is going to have a major impact here.

Anyone know if Bob Newhart was on the set?

That might change with the next few episodes though.

It's got to suck that right after they reveal his face for three whole seconds, now they've got to fire him. Talk about lousy timing!

My sources confirm to me that Page was fired for showing his, um, stuff to two people who work on the show (neither of them one of the main actresses, I'm told).

Guess when he breaks out this week, he'll just keep running!

Page Kennedy says producer wanted new direction

DETROIT, Michigan (AP) -- Former "Desperate Housewives" actor Page Kennedy says he wasn't fired from the hit show because of any improper behavior.

Kennedy said officials merely wanted to recast his role and that reports of him being let go for on-set nudity are false.

"There are a lot of stories that have been told, but the truth of the matter is that Touchstone (the show's producer) decided to go in a new direction, and they bought out my contract," Kennedy told the Detroit Free Press.

Publicists for the series have said Kennedy, who joined the show this season, was fired earlier this month after a "thorough investigation by the studio" of allegations of improper conduct made against him.

Kennedy, 28, said he's concerned about the damage the allegations could do to his image, at least in the short term.

"I feel that my life will be looked at under a microscope now," he told The Detroit News. "Anything that I do or am perceived to do will make news."

Kennedy played Caleb, a character shrouded in mystery and seen only briefly as he was held captive in the basement of Wisteria Lane newcomer Betty Applewhite (Alfre Woodard). The role has been recast, and Kennedy's final appearance on the ABC series aired Sunday.

Kennedy, who has appeared in the HBO series "Six Feet Under," plays a small role in the "In the Mix," which stars Usher and is set to open on November 23.
