Re: Dirty Jobs on Discovery

The new season started last night and it was a great ep. The whole show was spent at a rare animal farm in TX. They took care of some lemurs, albino kangaroos, a camel, a sloth and a bearcat. Mike Rowe was bitten, scratched, kicked in the nuts and shat on, plus he jacked off a porcupine.

Also, FYI, Rowe did Adam Carolla's podcast yesterday. It was an hour mostly spent on how Mike got to where he is. Unfortunately they didn't talk much about Dirty Jobs and didn't even mention Deadliest Catch.

Anyone watch last night's episode? They were at a beer brewery/rum distillery. One of the first things their head distiller did was tell them they were welcome to all the beer they could drink. So, naturally, the crew obliges them and do their best to keep their composure despite their increasing drunkenness. It was HILARIOUS! (And pretty cool, too, if you enjoy rum)

Dirty Jobs should win some sort of "best comedy" award every year. The jobs themselves aren't that interesting anymore, but Mike Rowe is a funny guy. Crew does a pretty good job too.

I love this show even though it has been hit or miss in recent seasons. I agree though this episode was really really good. I think what really helped was that the guys at the distillery we great characters and had fun personalities for the show and crew.

I'll miss it. It looked like they ran out of jobs in the US and relocated to Australia which probably upped the cost a bit.

I read that they shot some episodes in September, so there should be more.

Nice. Hopefully they give them a chance to a proper send off. To me this show always felt like a bunch of my good buddies somehow stumbled onto a TV show. I will miss it, but I'm sure Mike Rowe will resurface on something and hopefully it will have the same tone as Dirty Jobs.

He's always come off as a classy guy, I hope we continue to see him around.

If you have an interesting in Scouting check out the Eagle Scout letter on his site.

Re: Dirty Jobs on Discovery

I just saw that Dirty Jobs is returning to Discovery on July 7th.

Hop in, we're going on an epic reunion road trip!

Mike Rowe and the original #DirtyJobs crew are touring the country to revisit past jobbers and tell new stories. New series Dirty Jobs: Rowe'd Trip begins Tuesday, July 7 at 9p on Discovery.

Re: Dirty Jobs on Discovery

It's unfortunately just 4 episodes according to TVLine, but who knows if the ratings are good they could order more episodes.

I've always loved this show, and recently started rewatching them with my son. Cool, that Rowe's going to revist them.

Re: Dirty Jobs on Discovery

I wanted to go back and watch some of the original episodes, but it looks like they're not available anywhere. You have to buy seasons individually.

I guess I didn’t even realize the original run of the show ended. Only really watched it sporadically though.

Re: Dirty Jobs on Discovery

For those wondering, this incarnation of the show (or at least the first episode of it) is essentially a clip show interspersed with the original gang telling stories about the show and their experiences making it while driving around in an RV together. I think anyone who liked the original series will enjoy it. I certainly did.

Re: Dirty Jobs on Discovery

There is a marathon of old episodes on Saturday. I set my DVR to record them since they don't appear to be available on streaming sites.

I need shows to watch on the exercise bike. I'm still watching and recording the older episodes.
