Dwight's such a dork, he used his index finger when he should have used his thumb to make the "cutting of the throat" motion.

Nesbit 10-19-05 07:44 AM

Yeah when I look at that .gif THATS the thing that tells me Dwight's a dork....

I loved how Ryan didn't even attempt to dress up.

I also liked seeing the human side of Michael Scott when he was giving candy out to the kids at the end. *sniff*

BEST. EPISODE. YET.

That captured the temp experience perfectly. Now they just need to establish that all the regular employees bitch to him about everyone else.

Geofferson 10-19-05 09:07 AM

Great episode last night. Loved the sith lord side shots.

Every Halloween, Mose and I light a bonfire at the
beet farm. (It's no longer beet season) We hang
scarecrows from the trees and have spooky sounds
playing all around. We invite all the neighborhood
kids over for candy and punch and beer and hot dogs.
Last year we had a low turnout but it was still fun.
Mose and I got to eat all the beer and candy we
wanted, so that was cool. Then we threw
bottle-rockets into the firey flames and hoped they
didn't explode right back at us and ignite our hair.

i thought using the index finger was an accepted method...

anyway, great episode. kind of lame how they introduced two guys you've never seen before just to fire one of them, but hey, they didn't lose a regular.

the side shots of dwight were hilarious.

and it was nice to see the shots of Michael at home on halloween. Although why would the documentary cameras follow him home and film him through his window? :)

the pam/jim interaction was great again. jim being hurt when pam suggested he should take the job, then pam worried that she hurt his feelings. just felt very real.

loved pam's reaction to michael:

"and sometimes you just let the calls go to voicemail..."

"Wow, your costume is great!"

lysander 10-19-05 01:26 PM

I loved the Mr. Incredible costume and that all the women were cats

Brain Stew 10-19-05 02:03 PM

I thought it was funny when the guy was asking everyone to meet him at the bar except Michael and the one that was originally going to be fired and didn't mention Dwight's name.

didn't recognize the second guy but the first guy was someone we have seen before. He was the guy who 'fouled' Michael in the basketball episode leading to the ending of the game.

Big Boy Laroux 10-19-05 03:13 PM

why would a member of the office staff be on the warehouse team?

imdb doesn't have it up, but i'm not sure it's the same guy.

edited to add: ok, according to imdb, the guy in the basketball episode was Matt DeCaro, but with no character name (recognized his picture). Doesn't look like the same guy to me, and they don't have the cast list for last night's episode up yet.

Hubcap 10-19-05 03:14 PM

love when dwight was in michaels office and have the side angle of his face. Great episode.

DEANO 10-19-05 03:24 PM

I missed the ending, who got fired?

That killed me. It's such a standard woman's costume.

That was actually kind of touching. He's definitely not the jerk that he was in the first season.

Count Dooku 10-20-05 05:04 AM

He's definitely not the jerk that he was in the first season.
That change has really turned the show around for me.

Chew 10-20-05 06:30 AM

Sith Lord. That was awesome.

I wasn't sure about this show in the first season, but it certainly has turned a corner for me too.

Draven 10-20-05 08:56 AM

Great episode - Kevin's costume caused me to burst out in uncontrollable laughter.

And I was SO happy to see Michael with the kids at the end. I was afraid he wasn't going to have candy or would be mean to the kids, but it was a really nice moment for him. I've never gotten the impression that he was a jerk on the show. Just someone who was socially awkward and has problems dealing with people in appropriate ways. It was just a nice little scene.

JasonF 10-20-05 09:07 AM

Dwight: "I'm the Assistant Regional Manager."
Stanley: "To the."

rotfl I loved how Stanley just said those two words.

Big Boy Laroux 10-20-05 09:37 AM

i also liked how stanley didn't dress up. gotta love the guy in the office with no sense of humor (he showed this in the office olympics episode, too...)

Wow. I just registered for this to say that I totally agree. That made me laugh out loud for so long. I still laugh about it. I joke about going trick-or-treating as the three hole punched version of me.
