Deadwood, The Wire and Sopranos new seasons?
Crazy I know, but I still haven't caught up on the last seasons of Deadwood, The Wire or The Sopranos. I have Sopranos 5 on DVD and the others waiting on my Tivo.
Does anyone know when the new seasons will be starting up, so I can figure out which one I should watch first and which ones I might have more time? I was going to check HBO's website, but I've actually managed to avoid most spoilers so far and didn't want to take a chance of ruining one of them now.
I actually have Six Feet Under S5 on my Tivo as well, but I'm still only on season 2!

Thanks for the info. Looks like I can keep putting them off awhile.

Who cares when the new seasons start. Each one of those shows, and the seasons that you mentioned were top notch. I believe that you should watch them as soon as you can. You will always get a nice little recap before the newest seasons start. The Wire in particular was great.

Sopranos Season 6 starts in March and will run in HBO's Sunday 9pm spring slot (March-May).
Deadwood Season 3 will probably start in that same time slot during their summer slot (June-Aug).

The only shows I've managed to keep pace with so far this season are Lost, Desperate Housewives, Arrested Development, The Office and My Name is Earl. Rome, West Wing, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Extras, Invasion, Alias, CSI and Threshold are all waiting patiently on my HD-Tivo. Half of those I'll probably never get around to...
I couldn't even tell you the last time I watched a movie. I think it was Donnie Darko: Director's Cut and it took me about 3 weeks to finish!

According to this Deadwood will launch same time as The Sopranos with The Wire in mid-2006.
Still some question wether or not Dominic West will be back

Six Feet Under is my favorite series ever. I doubt that I will ever connect with characters in that way again.
But even when SFU was at it's prime, The Wire was (and is) the single best series of television I have ever seen. The idea that that level of complexity can be show, dramatically, and ALWAYS engaging boggles my mind years later. W

That's what I think of when I think of SFU.

The Wire is miles ahead of SFU in terms of complexity, character development, and pretty much everything else, and I'm a huge SFU fan.
The last word I heard on Dominic West was that he'll be back, but he'll have limited screen time.

To each his own I guess.
But I will say that I have never seen a television show like Six Feet Under. And I have never been so captivated by a select group of people. Never so emotional. Never so angry. Never so happy.

how come there's confusion about Dominic West returning or not? i mean he was kinda like the main character the last 3 seasons.. were they having contract issues between him and HBO w/ him wanting more money or something?

He just wants to do other things I think. I'm ok with having him around less next season myself. McNulty's act was starting to get on my nerves by the end of season 3.

It does make more sense from HBO's point of view not blow their wad with two strong shows at the same time. But that sure would have been a hellava strong one/two punch for us TV viewers.

oh yeah, the new season of the sopranos is officially to start on march 12 at 9. some possible bad news for fans of arcs.
(got this from tv guide)
"happily though he (david chase) does reveal that supersixing season 6, eight bonus episodes, will debut in 07, means you can expect more stand alone shows, like season 3's brilliant "pine barrens"

DO NOT DELETE ROME FROM YOUR TIVO....watch that show!
AND comparing the complexity of SFU to The Wire is comical...SFU never had to dedicate 3 episodes to start a season just to introduce all the characters

Can someone explain what was brilliant about Pine Barrens? I believe most people AT THE TIME believed it was brilliant because they thoutht it was the START OF SOMETHING, not a story dropped like a hot rock
