Hilton Subpoened in Kidnapping, Burglary Case
(Tuesday, November 08 09:17 AM)
LOS ANGELES (Zap2it.com) Paris Hilton has been pulled into a Los Angeles crime mystery.
The hotel heiress was subpoenaed on Thursday, Nov. 3 in the criminal investigation involving extortion, kidnapping and robbery, report news sources. Officers visited Hilton at her home for about an hour and gave her official documents. Later that night, the celebutante went clubbing with her sister Nicky.
Darnell Riley is accused of burglarizing the home of "Girls Gone Wild" creator Joe Francis. Riley is currently in L.A. County Jail.
"A year after Joe was abducted in his house and had duct tape tied around him, he then fingered Darnell Riley ... as the person that was involved in this," says Riley's attorney, Ronald Richards, in an interview on "E! News." "Paris allegedly told Joe Francis that an associate of Darnell Riley's admitted at a party that Darnell Riley was involved in the burglary. Joe Francis then called LAPD and said 'Paris Hilton told me this is who it is.'"
So far, Hilton hasn't indicated if she will testify in the case. A preliminary hearing is set for Monday, Nov. 21.
Hilton, who ended her friendship with pal Nicole Richie, is reportedly shooting the latest season of "The Simple Life" with her even though FOX dropped the reality show. According to Richie's dad, singer Lionel Richie, "I have no idea what the plot is but they start filming in a week or so. Don't ask me how it will work, but it will work. They'll be together."
The fourth season of the show was supposed to follow each of the party girls' wedding preparations, but Hilton split with fiancee Paris Latsis in October, scrapping those plans.

Simple Life has been picked up by E! Network and will debut next spring.

Parents of America, lock up your sons and daughters. "The Simple Life" is returning to television, and it's sending Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie to raise your kids.
After about six weeks in limbo, the former FOX series has found a new home on E!, where it will debut next spring. The new season of the series, the show's fourth, will consist of 10 episodes, and the cable network has also acquired rights to re-run previous seasons from producers 20th Century Fox TV and Bunim-Murray.
"We are thrilled to welcome Paris, Nicole and 'The Simple Life' to E!," says Ted Harbert, the channel's president and CEO. "The addition of this huge comedy hit to our schedule will continue to distinguish E! as the leader in entertainment, celebrity and pop-culture television."
FOX, which had initially slated "The Simple Life" for midseason this year, dropped the series in October after deciding it had enough other programming to fill its January schedule. The show seems like a pretty natural fit for E!, which does breathless celebrity coverage like no one else and, as 20th TV co-presidents Dana Walden and Gary Newman put it, "was among the first media outlets to recognize the enormous star quality of these two young women."
The new season of the show, subtitled "Till Death Do Us Part," also appears to solve the problem that Richie and Hilton are no longer friends, to the possible psychological detriment of 10 unsuspecting families. In each episode, the two will take turns running the household of a stranger -- a la "Wife Swap" -- overseeing cooking, cleaning, child care and the like. The families involved will then decide which of the two did a better job.
The acquisition could pay big dividends for E!, which has been searching for a breakout show for some time. In its most recent season of FOX, "The Simple Life" averaged about 9.6 million viewers (aided in part by following "American Idol" on several occasions); even a third of that audience would be huge for E!.

Nobody will touch Arrested Development but this show finds a buyer?
That's it. I'm moving to Indonesia. I give up on this country.

Please, don't give this show any credit. This is reality tv at it's lowest (and reality tv is tv at IT's lowest)

I just heard on KROQ 106.7 this morning that they won't be appearing in any scenes together. They will each do their jobs and there won't be any interaction between them. I guess their feud lives on!

So why not start a new thread on the Season that starts tomorrow? Why bump a thread that proclaims that The Simple Life has been canceled?
