plus if a person really likes a show or a show's theme they tend to hang in there, even with a downslide, being they hope to catch some spark or maybe even a really good ep again.. It's sort of like fishing, people don't just stop being they never catch anything.. it's blind hope I guess..
I have zero "hype" anymore for the next ep of Alias as I use to in the first few season. I watch it being I really like a spy vs spy theme show. Heck I'd be happy if they pulled a total --xfile-- like character move and wrote Garner out of a few eps and replace her with story lines that focus on the new chick on the show (Rachel Nichols) or just her dad or anything really.. It's the spy vs spy I like and sad to say this show delivered it much better the first few seasons..
as for this ep.. the over all writing is still ok as far how the characters interact and so on but they REALLY need to come up with some new mission ideas. The double agent swap is getting sort of old on the show and so is the "release" and hunt down again move etc etc..
of course easy for me to just tear down, not so easy to come up with a new idea.. I almost wonder if the show would be better off with a more random focus on other characters on the show and not so much Sidney anymore? Ohhhhhhh I know, sacrilege to even suggest it for many here.. heh

I really like the show alot going on. I am glad they got rid of last seasons credits which made it look a porno flick. I will miss Weiss he was a cool character very down to earth.

I also thought last night's episode was a return to form, although I did roll my eyes with the Stealth Bomber cameo.
I find that I'm not all that tied to Weiss (who really needs to be sitting behind a desk after the so-so fighting acumen on display in this episode), and I don't have any desire to see SpyMommy soon, and Nadia is pretty much done as well (especially with Weiss gone to D.C.).
I'm looking forward to what Tom will bring (glass jaw and all), and just looking forward to Rachel in general.
Renee is a badass through and through.
I can't see Sydney in too many tactical situations, and will have to become more covert and strategic in her hunt for the bad guys that did in Vaughn. It was weird to not see Vartan in the new opening credits.

I've watched every episode of this series since the pilot premiered, and I even liked the Lauren season, and I will tell you right now that I think ALIAS SUCKS!
I'm hoping that the new cast members bring some new vitality to the show
(Remember when it used to feature actual action sequences, not just a bunch of scenes with people staring and making phone calls?)
I've gone through about 90 episodes of watching these characters, and I'm not ready to give up yet --although I am getting ready to get ready
and FantasticVSDoom
Don't start telling people if they don't like it, they shouldn't watch it or complain about it.
I'll bet you've had occasion to complain about your precious Red Sox (who just got swept out of the playoffs) over the years.

Does everyone remember when Alias premiered? It was on Sundays nights at 8pm.
For many years previous, the X-Files dominated my Sunday nights at 8pm. Then I started to not care as much.
Then Alias came on, and mind you, the commercials for it in the beginning made it look stupid, just Syd running around in the red hair, like they were trying to sell us "Run Lola Run: The Series".
But something made me watch it, and I liked it. And I stopped watching my beloved X-Files altogether. But thats only because the X-Files got goofy. Mulder left, and two more agents were being groomed to replace Mulder and Scully.
Even though that seems to be whats happening on Alias, I'll still watch it. There isn't an Alias killer opposite it yet.
I'd be perfectly happy if they killed of Syd AND the baby and made Alias about Jack, Irina, Sloane, etc. They have ALWAYS been more interesting to watch anyway.

I have a feeling I am going to start referring to that new male character as "Doggett".
And I was distracted by how much that bad guy looks like Charles Grodin.
Syd, if you care about your child enough to want to avenge the death of "its" father, please stop going on missions! If you get killed, your baby will too.

I have to say I don't mind where they're going. It's no more stupid than where they've already been IMO. And it's going to be better now that Vaughn's gone; hopefully he'll stay dead, I've always hated him. The new guy seems interesting.

I didn't think it was a bad ep. I was happy to see that someone Weiss wasn't given the same uncertain fate that Vaughn received in the premiere. I'd like to say that he will be missed, but I don't think he will.
Good to see Marshall get a little more screen-time. Now they need to do the same for Spy-Daddy.
They need to get Sloane out of that cell. And Syd behind the desk w/ Marshall.

I have a feeling, the show is currently flying over the shark. Too many changes at once. Having two characters that were around since Ep1 leave (one dead and another moving across country) and introduce 2 new characters to replace the old. Also the potential of the main star (Syd) having much less of a role is all the halmarks of a shark jump. I know they said that last season was supposed to get the show back to the feel it had when SD6 was around, but I never felt it came close. There was no trying to hide where they worked since they didn't really interact with anyone outside of work. I'll still watch but I can't see it lasting many more seasons.

Never said if you dont like like it, dont watch or complain about it...I just made some observations and questions as to why people still watch a show that they dont like, thats all.
