Curb Your Enthusiasm - "The Bowtie" - 10/02/05

Episode 42 - The Bowtie

Larry hires a private investigator to uncover a personal secret, adopts a "racist" dog, and falls off his pedestal as a lesbian advocate, temporarily.

Didn't see a thread on this yet. I thought this was a great episode, much better than last week. The exchanges with the handiapped/disabled guy in the bathroom had me rolling. That and his bit about not wanting to use the bathroom at the party. Too funny.

I thought the handicapped stuff was kind of forced, I can't believe anyone would get upset like that. But the line "I don't think I've seen a handicapped person in the bathroom...ever" had me rolling.

Also Wanda's line about being his link to the black community

Overall a great episode.

That was classic Curb. The racist dog, the rejection/acceptance of the lesbian community, all hilarious.

Best line of the episode: "We wanted to recreate the feeling we had 25 years ago. I said, 'Let's have Larry David do a toast!' and somebody said 'He went home to take a shit!'"

I also like that he attempted to stutter to use the handicapped bathroom, and then just gave it up.

The racist dog bit was done by "King of the Hill" a couple years ago.

The handicapped stuff reminded me of a similar Seinfeld episode.

That said, it was all pretty funny.

Hilarious episode last night. Classic Curb, IMO.

Cheryl: "Larry, we need to talk."
Larry (lit up): "It's over...the marriage is over?"

This is the second episode I can think of where a guy in a wheelchair has been depicted as a douchebag. I wonder if there's a history behind that.

"Ohh...so you ARE a muslim!"

And Groucho, I've seen the racist dog stuff on more than just King of the Hill, but Curb made it fresh.

"Miss, don't bother talking to this man. He's racist. He has a racist dog."
"How do you know that?"
"We talk."
"Well, okay, the dog is racist, but I didn't train him to be that way!"

One of the best Curb's in a while... as mentioned above, the line about the toast had me howling with laughter for at LEAST 4 minutes... classic.

I agree that this was a much better episode than last week. I howled at the toast line as well. And also when Larry told the handicapped guy, oh wait, excuse me, the disabled guy that the next time there is someone in the handicapped stall that he needs to wait. Loved it! The Klan dog was funny, too, although I really felt bad for Larry when Klan dog decided that he would attack Rosie. Now it's not racist, it's homophobic.

It was better than last weeks episode- but it just seemed to predictable- not like the past seasons when you were surprised of how it would of turned out with each of the circumstances or situations.

Great episode. In addition to the above, i thought Larry's f-f-f-aliure at b-b-being a st-st-stutterer was pretty good.

The "toast" line was great.

We "may" not have AD soon, but I get plenty of laughs from this show.

Lesbian: "I'll give you a clue. It's starts with 'j' and ends with 'i'."
Larry: "Jedi?"

I've never seen a handicapped guy in a bathroom either!

This was a great episode. Whenever I am in work we are all doing the funny lines from the show the night before, you know it was great.

I love Marty Funkhowser, Larry and him have great chemistry when they are arguing.

I still like when he walks in the door and Cheryl tell him she wants to talk to him, "It's over?" Classic.

I thought that she might be, but not positive. Even when she was on Fat Actress, she was pretty big.

Blossom has been chub for a long time.

Pretty funny episode. Not up to par with other seasons though, but still enjoyable.

Yeah, Marty's a good character... Super Dave Osborne, for those that have seen/remember him.

I used to always watch Super Dave. Who would have thunk that he would be back on two of the best shows on TV? Go Super Dave!

For those of you who don't know, he is also Albert Brooks brother.

He is also Oscar Bluth's surrogate.
