I'll say it again and continue to say it, AD is a show that needs a strong lead in. It's not a good show to start off a night with. There's a difference between moving a show amongst other strong shows, and moving it to a night that has nothing that matches it.

If you think the Simpsons is a strong lead in, you need to go back and check the ratings for that show. 
However, I do think that it was a far better spot for that show than as a lead in to Kitchen Confidential on Monday nights.

In Fox's defense, they did put it behind American Idol a few times. While it posted its best ratings ever, it also lost more of the Idol lead-in than other shows in that same spot had. The unfortunate reality is that the mainstream audience is never going to like this show.

I'm thinking more along the lines that Friends was sandwiched between Mad About You and Seinfeld which helped nurture its success.

Must See TV History - Interesting to see all the failed shows from Must See night.
Anyway, hopefully we are all fretting about nothing. On to the show!
