Pick up the first couple of seasons and watch from the beginning and you might get it then. I found that to be the best way to "get" a great series. It's much better than checking out random episodes here and there. I always watch from the beginning of every series now.

How many of us watched The X-Files finale? I'm still watching Alias. Why? Certainly not because it's good. It's because I'm used to it. To understand why Friends was such a huge hit, you have to remember 1994, remember that it was sandwiched between monster hits Seinfeld and Mad About You, and remember that the other networks were so used to running scared from NBC Thursdays that Friends rarely had any competition. Once it became popular, it simply sustained itself, quality or not.

Wow I forgot about Stark Raving Mad -- that was a great show. I thought it was on Tuesday though with Frasier? Or was Frasier back on Thursday by then? I will have to dig through some tapes, I think I have some episodes of it somewhere.
I cannot recall anything about Union Square or Madman of the People.
As for Cursed/Weber... I don't think I really enjoyed that one either. They should have kept the name "Cursed" -- I hate it when tv shows are just named after the lead star.
I think Star Raving Mad and Caroline were the best of the lot.

Caroline was good for about a half a season if you ask me, but it fell off a cliff after that in my book.
