That was almost certainly a poke at Kobe and his wife not being comfortable with Charisma's character being a Laker girl, explaining why she lost her job.

I actually don't think that's too much of a stretch. Though I don't think that that's the reason for it.
Spoiler:
I was also thinking maybe it had something to do with the daughter. We don't know much about her yet, but her father looks like he's up to something.

Lost and VM are my two favorite shows on television (damn ABC and UPN for not coming up with different time slots). But on some level, I actually respect this show more than Lost. Don't get me wrong. Lost is very well written, but it's also propped up by gimmicks and such an air of mystique that I can't help thinking that the conclusion of the series will be unable to live up to expectations. I have a bad feeling it will take an Alias-like turn in creating a plot that's just too unbelievable. That said, the journey itself is fun. The reason that VM is good is ONLY because of its great writing. There are no fancy special effects. There is no big secret that you have NO way of figuring out. It's just extremely clever writing that outwits 95% of the viewers. And I love it.

I had to wait until today to watch the season premiere since my Canadian network decided to schedule the Season 1 finale this afternoon.

I'm even paying to get UPN to watch the show for this upcoming season. Good thing I have a DVR.

I thought this was one of the better season openers so far for all of the shows that I watched this season so far.

I'll be sad to see Meg go if she's really dead. I guess we'll find out next week.

Can't wait for this week episode!

I don't have a problem with that.

Seeing her in the bikini made the show for me. It'll be nice to see more of her as the show goes on.

What was funny to me, is that my high school had a guidance counselor named Mr. Domas and we also called him "Dumbass".

I love this show, and the premiere confirmed that this is the best show on television, IMHO.

I guess one thing that wasn't clear to me, I thought Charisma was that one kid's biological mom (Beaver, I think, the smaller one) and was the other kid's stepmom. That would definitely make the Logan angle more interesting. I really liked Veronica and Logann together, I think it works better than Veronica and Duncan, but I'll take my Veronica anyway I can get her.

My take was that she was the stepmother for both kids.

Yeah, I think you are right. I just rewatched that scene and I think the reason I thought she was Beaver's mom was because he said this is our mom, wouldn't look at her in the pool, and told Dick and Logan they were twisted.

wow!

I had never seen a single episode of VM before this past week.....
I marathoned the first season the last few days, thanks to the dvds, and watched this first episode for season 2 last night.

great tv.

I had planned on staying current with season 2, so I have been taping the episodes waiting for the season 1 dvd to come out. This is my new favorite show after Lost.

I was worried that the seaon 2 mystery miught be difficult to come up with, or that we wouldn't even see a central one develop for a few episodes.... glad my fears were wrong!

I was rooting for Logan and Veronica to stay together, so that totally sucks
but I might get over it in time.......

I'll catch up with the rest of the eps I have missed and taped tonight!

I also just caught this. I've been busy so its took some time to get through season 1, but it was a great season. Whats good is that even rapping up the storyline for 1, we still got a fresh new story for season 2 and it didn't feel like "been there, done that" like alias has this season.

Season 2 is mostly downhill from there. By the end you wont really care who killed the kids on the bus.
