My Pick (Tuesday): The Office (UK)
***Note: As each series/season is only six episodes long, I would live to move to have possesion of both 1&2. If this is not possible I choose Series/Season 1***
Description: Introduction to David Brent and his staff, Quiz Night, The traning session from Hell, downsizing storyline.

Triple S, I'm counting them as seperate seasons (this goes for all UK shows with 6-episode seasons as well), so I'll put you down for season 1.

I'm surprised by some of the picks, especially how much I like most of the choices, but I'm happy that none of my picks have been taken except Shield. Before the second round, I basically figured out what my choices would be and what order they would be, but I couldn't really figure out any really good alternatives. I knew there was a pretty good chance that my choices after round 3 would be obscure enough to not get picked. Out of all my picks, Shield s1 was my least favorite, but I thought it would round out my schedule well. I actually had a back-up choice in mind, but I think it'd be strategic suicide. If I chose it, there'd be 2 underwatched reality shows on my list and I think all the reality haters wouldn't vote for mine and even people who like reality tv probably wouldn't have watched it. I'm enjoying this draft much more than I expected, but I wish it was leading to something more than just a popularity contest.

I have some thoughts on nny's post (and the way picks are going), but I'm going to reserve them until after the contest as to not influence picks/voting.
Remind me after the contest and I'll tell you what I think.

Tuesday: Cowboy Bebop (entire series, as it only ran one season)
That is eligible, right? The rules didn't specifically exclude anime, but if it doesn't count, let me know.

Well, in America, a season is generally 13 episodes. However, for animes in Japan, I do believe that they generally have 24-26 episodes per season. And I remember a lot of people complaining that the show was never picked up beyond its first season.
Now, it might have aired in America in two separate seasons, but in Japan, for its original airing, it was one season.

Okay, there's something interesting here about Cowboy Bebop. Info from: http://rfblues.aaanime.net/Sessions/
"In the original Japanese television run in the spring of 1998, only twelve of the twenty-six sessions were aired weekly on Fridays due to violent content. An extra session was created to complete a full thirteen episode season.
Following a promotional video showcasing the making of the show, unaired sessions were released on video.
Then, in the late fall through the winter of 1998-99, all of the sessions were aired weekly on the satellite station, WOWOW.
On September 2, 2001, the show made its American television debut on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim programming block. Minor edits were made to suit American Television standards."
But, the 13 episodes aired are not just the first 13 episodes. The episodes that originally aired were numbers 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, and 18.
So the entire season wasn't even released until it came out on video. At which point, the entire series ran as one season on WOWOW.
When it ran on Adult Swim, it ran the whole series, I believe.
I'd think, considering the odd airing circumstances of the show, it was meant to be one season, and ever since the video release, has been aired that way, it should be considered one season.
And even if you really wanted to consider it two seasons, the second "season" never aired as its own season. It only aired as part of the full series on WOWOW and Adult Swim. And if season one consists of some beginning and then some middle episodes, season 2 would technically consist of episodes 1, 4, 5, 6, 16, 17, and then 19-26, whereas season "1" would also have episode XX, which is just a compilation of clips from the previous 12 episodes. So how would you suggest splitting it up?

Also, on TVTome I looked up two other popular anime, Neon Genesis Evangelion and Inuyasha. Neon Genesis Evangelion had 26 episodes in its only season, and the first season of Inuyasha had 27 episodes. This coincides with what I said. Since animes are usually shown twice a week, they have double the episodes. The 26 sessions of Cowboy Bebop were meant to be one season, but the first season was reduced to 12 episodes plus XX for violence reasons, not because a customary season of an anime in Japan is 13 episodes.

Given the odd circumstances I think Bebop should be counted as one season. It was clearly intended to be one season, and given that it's 2nd season is pretty much random episodes in their order...I think we should allow it.

That's cool, I just hadn't seen anything indicating that it was just one season (stupid me for using that awful Tv.com for most of my info). Thanks for the clarification Suprmallet. I say let's count it as a one season show.
