I have been going over this time and time again and cannot figure it out.

Was that the same actor playing "Dead Rex" who played Rex last year, or did they get a stand in???

Either that or he was HEAVILY made up -- he DID look different though, I agree. Did anyone notice if he was in the credits?

It looked like the same person to me. I think he just had on a ton of makeup to make him look dead.

Yep, and you know they will go in that direction just to see what Bree's reaction would be.

Had a quick Desperate Housewives related question.

Wasn't one of them in an NFL promo last year where she dropped her towel in front of a wide receiver? Which actress was it, and is that promo available anywhere online?

As for Season 2, episode 1... haven't watched it though I did tape it. I'm halfway through Season 1 on DVD, hope to be finished and caught up and able to watch this episode prior to episode 2. Great series, can't believe that I didn't watch it at all last year.

It was Nicolette Sheridan with TO.

To answer the Rex question, Steven Culp let a "lifemask" be made of his face to put on a mannequin in the casket.

I wonder if Teri Hatcher was bitter about losing the Emmy? A lot of the post Emmy photos have her noticably absent from the group with Nicollette being the fourth member.

Marcia Cross deserved it over them both.

Well, there's a LOT that went on last season, and while they did do some recapping of the big events, with the stuff involving Mary-Alice's family being the biggest, there's still way too much backstory to put entirely in the "previously on..." bit.

That's one of the good things about this show.. the plotlines actually move forward with every episode, instead of just meandering around until the season finales, but I imagine that it does make it tough for a new viewer to jump in.

I like how they wrapped the S1 mystery up and are basically starting fresh.
Yup, but I also like how it's not 100% resolved, either. Sure, we know the big picture, but there's still a few unanswered questions:

1. Is Zach Mike's son? While that's what they're leading us to believe, an often-overlooked fact is that Dierdre was sleeping with the cop that Mike killed, and since it was mentioned that he got pregnant before he got sent to prison, the timeline does fit.

2. What happened to Paul? Mike left the guy handcuffed in the middle of the desert.

3. While it's not as directly related to the Young's story, I really hope to see Mrs. Huber's sister come back, as she was just awesome.

I agree with you on that one, but the fact that they gave it to Huffman indicates that they had enough sense to not vote for the sentimental/odds-n favorite. I just think Hatcher was pissed and didn't go to any of the appearances afterwards because she lost.

I wonder if Cherry intends to open each new season with a funeral, kind of the same way The Godfather movies all opened with a religious ceremony of some sort?

Also, the whole (in my opinion, HUGE) deal with George essentially murdering Rex. I'm waiting anxiously for this one to be resolved. I hope Bree figures it out and blows George away.

Cool first ep. I'm intrigued by the Applewhites. I was just cringing during the whole funeral scene, but it was great. I thought they did a great job with "dead Rex". Really looked authentic. Can't wait for next week.

My guess with Zach is that he won't turn out to be Mike's son. That way Mike and Susan can be together.

Did anyone else fall for the "Zach is dead" thing? I got suckered in. I thought they killed him off! Ah well. They still could...

Out of all the housewives, she's my least favorite character. I think she had too much Lucy Ricardo-like meddling that just got old fast.

Well, yeah, but the main mystery was still wrapped up. Of course they are going to leave some issues dangling from it. At its heart, this is a soap opera.

FWIW, I think the show could exist without Hatcher and Longoria. I honestly feel that this might be the last season we see Gabriele, as with all of the media attention Eva is getting they seem to be grooming her as Hollywood's next leading lady. I could be wrong though, but the only two on this show that I feel make it what it is are Huffman and Cross.

It could exist but it wouldn't be the same for me. I really like all the leading ladies on it - each in different ways. Eva Longoria won't be going anywhere.

Somehow my recording that was set up for this show didn't get the extra three or four minutes on the end of it like most do, so I missed the last few minutes.

Can someone fill me in on what happens? Last thing I saw was them opening the door to the basement and walking down the stairs with the tray of food....

Thanks!

They have someone in shackles in the basement, all you saw was his shackled hand as he reached onto the table for the food.

I liked the hint of Andrew being all kind and supportive to his mother (especially regarding the whole grandma being disinvited from the funeral conversation). This is likely all part of his evil plan to be the perfect son and then doing something so heinous that it will completely destroy Bree.

Oh my, that had me laughing out loud!!!! Loved Shirley Knight's entrance in this episode.

I too thought Zach was dead (that's what I get for not watching the credits closely).

Glad DH is back!!!

What's the deal with Teri Hatcher? She looks like a skin-covered skeleton compared to the "previously on" shots of the first season.

Teri's really skinny this season, plus it looks like she's got a lot of the wrinkles around her eyes smoothed out.

Not that it's really a big deal, but was I the only one who thought that the person the Applewhite's had chained in the basement looked caucasian, or at least the mystery person's hand?
