All the previews I'd seen led me to think I'd hate it, but I decided to give it a chance. I ended up giving it about a minute. Maybe it got better, but I'll never know and I don't particularly care. As soon as he called Mary Tyler Moore a bitch, I was done. Horrible.

I had meant to TIVO this, but had forgotten to set it.

After reading this thread I don't feel so bad.

It was okay, I could handle it, as it is in a good time slot. But I will no longer tune in due to the laugh track alone, this was BRUTAL, I could not tell if I cared for the show or not.

This show was so unbelievably bad, I had to watch it all the way through to make sure there wasn't a "gotcha!" ending saying
"HA HA! We wouldn't deliberately make a show this bad! Tune in next week for the actual show."

I'll be surprised if this show is still on in October.

I gave it a shot. Wow, that was bad. The laugh track hurts it, but the bad writing hurts it even more.

They need to stop dicking around with King of the Hill and just give it that 8:30pm timeslot.

true.. that 8:30 slot is a cherry one between Simpsons and Family Guy.. might as well stick with a proven animated show

No, I'm pretty sure they needed the laugh track. Michael Rappaport didn't even sound like he liked the show when he was a guest on Conan Friday night, and he's a pretty dumb guy!

Can I change my answer for "first show to be cancelled"?

Wow, that was bad. The laugh track was the worst I think I have ever heard. Ever. And I've watched a shitload of TV. I made it 10 minutes in and bailed.

The show was okay. It had some good bits. But that laugh track has to go. And I agree with the thought that this would work better as a single camera show.

I'll admit it: aside from the laugh-track, I thought it was a funny show. My Season Pass will remain for the time being.

I didn't hate it, but I came THIS close to turning it off during the first few minutes. It did come off as a weird hybrid of Titus and a typical family sitcom. The laugh track felt worse than usual. I think it felt especially bad during the "cutaway" clips, because at least during the normal scenes I could rationalize the laughter could be coming from a studio audience. But during those cutaways it felt even more forced than usual.

As for the actual show content, it was okay. I'll probably continue to watch it simply because of the time slot, at least as long as it keeps me semi-interested. I like the cast, and the humor at least has a *little* bite to it. I wouldn't go out of my way to watch it, though.

Despite all the horrible reactions here, I still bet this got better ratings than Arrested Development.

It's interesting that this thread is at 2 pages.

Bite? Really? "No daughter of mine is dating a Negro! Why I oughta...!"

I had a much bigger problem with the white room intermissions than with the laugh track. Having both of those is a bad combo.

I didn't think it was the worst show I've ever seen. I did laugh once. It won't be high on my list of things to watch from now on, though.

Unwatchable, I fast forwarded through the last 2/3 of the show just to see if the daughter was going to be in any different outfits. Christ is she hot.

That was awful. How do shows this bad make it to air? Unreal.

The laugh track was horrible, but I actually liked the show. I'll keep watching.

I actually thought it was aok. I laughed a couple times... But the laugh track was AWFUL. What were they thinking? And the constant cuts got old fast.

I like Michael Rappaport, but I won't be watching another episode. This should last about 5 episodes.

Looks like my one and only prediction in the "Which new show will be the first to get cancelled?" thread just might come true!!! Hoooray for me!

I came away thinking if FOX wanted this kind of show, why did those fuckheads cancel Titus?

I never got into Titus, but if it was anywhere near the quality of this, I am glad that I didn't. The episodes that I did watch underwhelmed me.

Perhaps the laugh track wouldn't have been so noticably bad if they hadn't cranked it, full steam, while he was doing the show introductions on the white screen ... it sure made me long for Scrubs.

Only one line I found funny ....

"There only one simple rule for dating my teenage daughter: if you show her your penis, you lose it."
