I am enjoying the show for the most part. I don't think it is something I will want to watch again and again on DVD or anything.

Enjoyed last night's episode. Michael's plan is getting pretty frustrating for him. His new roommate, "I don't sleep...ever!"

This show definitely has the feel of 24, in both good ways and bad. But I love 24 despite its faults, so I'll likely stay hooked on this one.

This show is good, but not great.

There's no way in hell a death row inmate would be doing work chores with the general population. And aren't the corrections officers just a tiny bit suspicious of all those private conversations the two brothers are having?

Bando,

Like 24, this show requires a HUGE suspension of disbelief to be enjoyed. Once I realized that (like, in the first 30 seconds) I relaxed and enjoyed myself. It's a fantasy with very few roots in reality, you know, like LOTR or JFK.

It's Fox River, i watched with CC on (can't turn too loud, the kids sleeping and i have been watching TV shows for a long times with CC on and kinda not natural w/o it). Some times i wonder about the SAT words those characters use, it's kinda weird...

From zap2it.com:

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with an hour of "Two and a Half Men," 7.0/11. The Florida State-Miami game posted a 6.6/10 for ABC. FOX's "Prison Break," 5.1/8, took an expected dip from its premiere because of the holiday but still did reasonably well. NBC slipped to fourth with "Las Vegas," 3.5/5. A second "7th Heaven" kept The WB in fifth, beating "Girlfriends" and "Half & Half" on UPN.

I don't know a whole lot about death row.
Is it me or does Lincoln get a lot of "out" time?
He's allowed to be among the general population working;
but yet he needs to be chained while speaking to his
son through a cage.

Decent episode. I still don't care about anything outside of the prison. I wonder if Sucre will still play a large role as the plan continues.

I think the whole "deathrow inmate that gets out a lot" is another of those "suspend disbelief" issues. If he didn't get out a lot, he wouldn't have much screentime or many scenes with his brother. That wouldn't make for all that interesting of a show, now would it?

I didn't at first, but the Secret Service guy is starting to change that opinion.

This show needs a tagline, a la 24's "There's not enough time!"

I also can't help but think "That's the John Doe guy!" each time I see him on screen.

Solid second episode, although I am not quite as high on it as I thought I would be.

Yeah, but that varies from prison to prison. Usually, death row inmates are in sort of what could be considered administrative segregation from the general population. They don't usually interact at all with other inmates. But, for shows like this it's better to just pretend you don't know any of that so the premise works.

I said something to the same effect to my wife. My speculation:
Spoiler:
The VP's wife orchestrated it, because the brother has some sort of scandal, and she wants her husband to become President.

Finally got around to watching it. I enjoy the show and will continue watching it but I could care less about the subplot with Lincoln and his son.
If we are comparing this show to "24", is almost as bad as Jack and Kim.

When I read the Time (or maybe Newsweek) review that this show requires a huge suspension of disbelief, I kept hope that no, all these "plot holes" will be fleshed out in coming weeks such as why no one noticed they were brothers, no one knew he designed the place (which actually was given a good, plausible explanation), etc., etc.,...But after watching this week...I was wrong. I think I'll still enjoy it if I have to do that, but I don't know if I can last if they are really going to go to the length of implausibility as "the cellmate who doesn't sleep". I still have enough hope that that statement is part of his mental illness.

I must have missed something...or just tuned out. Where did Michael get the cell phone at the start of the episode? (I also missed a section later on so maybe I missed the answer to my question)

The "cell phone" was really just made of soap. He hid it, then used it as a test to see if his cell mate would rat him out. The cell mate didn't (and paid the price by losing conjugal visit rights). The cell mate got mad when he found out, then asked for a transfer.

Maybe this season they get him out and next season they figure out who framed him.

Once you're out of the prison how can it be called "prison break"? I think they should just get transferred to a new prison each season. Each one fancier than the last.
