Reliving "That 80s Show"

So they started showing "That 80s Show" here in Australia. It's billed as the "#1 hit comedy show from America".

When that show aired in the US it was quite possibly one of the worse shows ever created, however some force compelled me to watch it each week.

That same force is at play again.

They must have the list upside down.

I thought this thread was announcing that FOX is changing the title of "That '70s Show" for the upcoming season... since they've been stuck in 1979 for the last five years or so.

Maybe the debut episode was number one in its time slot for the first week at least, just because it debuted in a dead time when everything else was in reruns? Still silly to call it the #1 hit comedy show, though.

I liked that show. Even more so because I think when it aired Greg the Bunny was on the same night.

Two seasons of the show roughly equal one year in "real time." So...you're wrong.

Correct. The show starts in 1976 - they progress a year every 2 seasons. This is now season eight Last season the license plate again said '79. Season 9 should be the final in the seventies.

^ Season 9 would be in 1980 by that logic.

Maybe they're those anal-type people who rained all over the Year 2000/New Millenium parade by noting there's no year zero (and therefore, 1980 would be the last year of the '70s rather than the first year of the '80s).

I can't imagine that show even won it's time slot for the debut. I could be wrong though.

The Asian dude on the show was pretty funny, I think his name was Eddie.

I thought that show was pretty fun. I actually liked the lead actors too, which is a plus.

Maybe they really meant to show the #1 comedy hit (Cheers? Cosby?) in the 80's but were sent the show literally known as That 80's Show instead.
