I thought the same thing until I remembered I grew up in San Diego and had about as much use for gloves as I have for audio cassette tapes now.

Bob: Simply put, while the 1950's films used dual prints and interlocked projectors, by the 70's and 80's they were using single strip, one projector systems. This solved the sync issues and cost of double prints was avoided, but reduced brightness and resolution resulted.

Back to the 80's series: there was one moment where they said malls were invented in the 80s? Huh? I went to malls well before that.

Yup. Merle Hay Mall here in Des Moines opened in 1959. So they need to lay off the crack.

I'm sure they're trying to say that malls became the hang-out places in the 1980s.

I guess we can't rely on Chris Jerico for accurate mall history.

I think that was sort of the heyday of malls for teens (think back to the opening scene of "Fast Times At Ridgemont High). Of course kids and teens will always hang out at the mall, but when I shop at the local mall now I can't help but think back to my teenage days when it had several record stores, a couple of arcades, a movie theater, etc. Now it doesn't have any of those.

They bring up JUST ONE OF THE GUYS, coax Joyce Hyser to actually talk about the film, and then they barely show her?

That's the problem with this show.

Taped it all on Friday, wasn't really watching it earlier, because of the World Series.

I'm sure there will be 3 or 4 things that I'll remember that I haven't thought of in years, and I liked, and 3 or 4 that will make me wish they hadn't made me remember.

I'll try to get it all done over the weekend, but I have to work.

I don't think this one is quite as good as the others so far, but I'll give it a few repeat viewings.

When they talked about the stealth bomber (??) why were they showing both the bomber & the stealth fighter?

They aren't the same plane and they don't really look that much alike.

Just finished watching these. Man, they were really reaching for stuff to talk about. All the movies were B-movies and the products were lame. The videos they talked about were embarassing. Rod Stewart in Forever Young? Lame. I actually skipped through a lot of it.

I've liked this one, but did we need another "I Love the '80s" so soon?

I mean, VH1 has now done three "I Love the '80s" and two "I Love the '90s", but only one "I Love the '70s" and not a single one on the '60s.

They need to do another one on the '70s and at least one on the '60s before doing the '80s or '90s again.

(And there are plenty of 40+ year-old celebrities they could find to provide comments, so why they haven't done the '60s yet is still a complete mystery to me.)

I hope they put these out on DVD soon.. all 3 1980s and both 1990s.. I'd buy them. Esp if they had bloopers, extras, etc.

I couldn't stop laughing when they were getting into the jokes from the Truly Tasteless Jokes....I literally had tears in my eyes.....I dont know why I found it so funny but it was good.

I basically waded through all 10 episodes just to see if Weird Al named UHF as one of the 1989 movies that should have made in 3-D. :)

I owned all the Truly Tasteless jokebooks as a child. I figure that has contributed to my sick sense of humor today.

I think the best part of the whole week was the bit about the party phone lines. That made me laugh the most.

Did anyone else ditch wearing the 3-D glasses early on? After the first episode I thought the effects weren't all that great and chucked the glasses.

We definitely need more Mo Rocca on TV. I really miss "Things I Hate About You."

Hal Sparks amuses me greatly. I laughed really hard at his Neil Diamond imitation.
I actually thought that this one was as good as the other two I love the 80s. As a child of the 80's I can remember some of the stuff.

Fashion Plates.. oh.my.

The Fashion Plates thing was cool because I totally forgot about that toy, but when they showed it, it all came rushing back. I don't think I had that, but I have a memory of it so I am wondering if my friend had it and i just used it once.

I was glad they played that Monchichi song, I used to sing that all the time. The jngle was more memorable than the toy.

I thought it was funny when Alan Thicke did the "Hot Moms" segment and one of the things shown was the Vanity Fair cover of Demi Moore and he said "Seen here pregnant with Ashton"..
