The Amazing Race Season 4 on GSN discussion thread

No one's started one yet, so I figured I would...so that there is place for discussion.

TAR4 starts tonight, Wednesday August 17, at 9pm on GSN.

Hopefully Chew will be along to post the pics of the teams like he did in previous threads (I don't know how to post pics unfortunately, and have never bothered to figure it out).

but YAY! for Jon and Kelly!! my favorite TAR team ever!

Got hooked onto TAR because of the fourth series (started watching the race at its halfway point).

The Amazing Race 4
12 teams
13 episodes

Episode 4.1 Cheaters Never Win --- And They Cheated!
The fourth season premieres, again with twelve teams, this time beginning in LA's Dodger Stadium.

Episode 4.1 = 90 minutes
Wed 8/17

As far as I can tell, this season premiere is the only episode of TAR4 that is longer than 60 minutes. Does anyone know of any other episode that is longer than 60 minutes?

TAR4 is also the last season with Fast Forwards available on every leg (except the last 2 legs)--future seasons only have 2 Fast Forwards, and is also the last season without Yields.

As the sig states, I've been blocked from this site at work and I'm just too darn busy watching TV when I get home. So, I'm not able to post much anymore.

Here you go:

The SmartFilter at work also tends to block proxy stuff, but it's worth a shot.

Hopefully NEVERMIND will be back to post the links to the original threads for this season. I loved reading those for season 3.

Would have been very dissapointing to see Tian and Jarre gone early.

And the 2 philiminated were a waste of space, as are the ATC guys.

Yes, but it was worth it to watch Debra inch her way across that cable bridge, lol.... I found it hilarious the first time, and it still didn't disappoint the second time. I think it was a combination of her having sunglasses on and the expression on her face, lol, but I just find it soooo funny.

Don't understand the use of the fast forward by the football wives....no chance of being eliminated yet they use it for what...to get 4th.

If their main identity in life is the fact that they are married to someone.....they are not likely to be the brightest bulbs on the tree. That being said, they are not the only people to waste a FF in the history of TAR. Some teams labor under the misconception that if they can just get to the head of the pack early in the race, they will be able to stay there until the end of the race. I often wonder if people even watch these competition reality shows before deciding they want to be on them. If they do, many teams learn nothing from the past mistakes of others.

Amanda's got quite a sailor's mouth. I wouldn't mind if she talked dirty to me though.

I wonder the exact same thing because many teams make the same mistakes that cost earlier teams in previous races the game.

I think when the casting people are looking for contestants, they ask them if they've seen the earlier races. If you come across as a fan or someone whose watched (and possibly studied) them, they throw your application into the trash.

If that little thing annoyed you, you are really not going to enjoy that team this race, lol. I guess clowns never stop being clowns.

That masquerade ball in Venice is one of my favorite roadblocks in the history of the show.

When Debra said she couldn't see her feet, I said "Can she usually?"
Yeah, I know, I'm mean.

I would have liked to have seen "Team Weeble Wobble" go farther in the race. I wondered if being on TAR would cause weight loss. I always wonder when do the racers eat? (Besides the pit stops). You never see anyone starving and need to stop for a burger.

I am borderline hypo-glyemic and I know when I need to eat, I need to eat. I never see anyone need to find a bathroom either. In TAR 3, Flo once mentioned having to pee and that was the only time I have ever heard a reference to bodily functions.

So has Team Virgin figured out that guy is gay yet? I'm sorry, but if you are waiting to have sex until marriage (for 12 years) and refuse to get married... you just aren't that eager.

When the virgins were doing the zip line, I was like "Wow, that's the only time there's ever been something between her legs." Heh. (Yeah, I'm 12.)
